  • This sounds like a recipe for ABS slurry, as used in 3D printing for holding prints down. Given the value of the fairing, it's probably worth buying proper acetone rather than nail varnish remover, avoiding issues with the moisturiser and other contaminants.
    If you know anyone on the 3D printing thread IRL, they might be able to design (and print) an ABS reinforcing patch that can be bonded in place with slurry. I say IRL because it will probably need several attempts with access to the fairing to get it right - possibly it's just me, but making a print match a surface rarely works first time!

  • I think mine was from Superdrug - it left a residue (glycerine?) that didn't play nicely with my printer.
    This sort of stuff https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331585317454 costs a bit more, but for the amount I use it's the equivalent of a coffee every couple of months, and MrsE isn't tempted to 'borrow' it...
