XT is but they're not XT shifters. People told me to get XT shifters so you can do the multi gear dumping (which I use a lot). If that also works on SLX so bet it, but that's what I remember being told.

The cassette is the biggest downgrade as the HG+ shifting on the Shimano ones is great also might mean the wheels are HG rather than microspline so not an easy upgrade in the future, possibly without new wheels depending on the hub, although wheels are always a good upgrade.

Probably a mite small but this is in the peak district already and is excellent for Peak district trails, https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/395226/#comment17339646

Christ. Thought I'd "quickly" sort my wheels out for an upcoming Scotland trip, pop the DH tyres on. Hours later, and I've now got new bearings in the freehub and front wheel, trued them up, retaped the rims, wrestled the DH casing tyres on, and put in new valve cores. Was gonna clean it, but not sure I can be arsed after all that

Thought I’d mention here, I have a Manitou R7 120mm 27.5mm fork bought for a project that never happened and I could do with the cash. Any interest? If not I’ll make a FS ad.

You could have added cushcore to make the job even easier.

Better start again then

You wanna come and do some of my bikes while you're on a roll? The freehub on my partner's road bike feels like the bearings that were in it left a few years ago...

What size bike are you after?
I need my Medium Hi-Mod Scalpel hardtail gone. Has Fancy carbon Hollowgram wheels.

Win Nino Schurters spark and a trip to Switzerland by donating to world bicycle relief.
Thought I'd share as there's stupider raffles.
And the bike is hot.

Nice bike, but wrong size, price and spec for me :)

So rescued my old 90's Fisher Advance from my Dad's garage clearance.
Took off all the shite he put on it... skinny road wheels and plastic guards etc and gave it a bit of a clean and some new tyres. Was going to give it away but it might actually be a good pub bike. Ebay tells me the stem might be worth splitting/selling at some point.

That has cleaned up great 👌The stem is £80-£100 on its own fluro ones that haven't faded are hard to find but yours is looking good still.

lol
When the stems worth more than the bike.
Thanks for the value info 👍 -
• #28471
Probably half what the bike is worth but definitely don't give it away. £150-£200 if your lucky. It's a nice little pub/lock up bike

Just rode it / locked it at the Gym and it's nippy with shorter bars and zero suspension sag.
The Shimano Deore thumb shifters work and index better than I remember.
I wouldn't lock my Klein Attitude or Curtis Mtb's there... -

What a weapon! Very keen to try out some Mavens, not that I'm fast enough to ever need that much braking power

Looks sendy.
What's the bike, and what's the little thing around the stem?
Thanks. I researched each of the components last night, and like for like the Whyte seemed slightly better to me. I also like the sound of the geometry on it. I very much plan to try and find some stuff to bomb down or jump off, rather than bike pack.
