I've been looking for sure and I'd love the excuse for a little Europe weekend roadtrip. If things change and budget expands I'll definitely go with this route (I have an awful grá for an MV Agusta Brutale 1078RR which are impossible to find here) but at the current capex I probably won't be able to justify it...

Ahh, modern bike magic. Whoever decided to put the regulator there deserves wet socks in hell. Man alive that was a bastard to get to.

@Nahguavkire CBR’s from that era are totally overlooked. The thinking man’s super bike. Still blows my mind how small the 954 is to this day.
I have a bias towards Suzuki’s so a 750 for the perfect all rounder. -

Minus one plus one that’s how it works isn’t it?

I think the 954 or 929 would be a great outcome! I actually saw a clean (looking) 954 pop up for sale locally today for €2500 which I suspect will be sold before I get to it so I think I just need to assemble the euros and watch in wait!

• #25163
Where the ruck are you getting these?
@Nahguavkire screamers are all good and fine, but there’s no where to reaaally push them these days. Low end torque is where it’s at. If I found a ratty 954 I’d a do a two year build for sure. Future classic.

@konastab01 that was not intentional.

Yeah, Chak's right, they're magic. The 929s in particular still had the insanely deep Honda paint and finish, and they're both EFI which is a massive plus. Anything with Carbs from the 90s is likely going to need a strip and rebuild to be at it's best and 4 cylinder carb work is a massive cock.
I'd avoid the pre-SRAD GSXR750s. They look cool but are proper dinosaurs by comparison.

Modern thinking is to hide them hopefully in air flow. Personally when the reg/rec dies I replace the connections, as the connectors get burned. Then move to somewhere in air flow.
Any issues with the windings?

• #25167
I'd disagree with paint and finish ;)
Also make sure the bike has had all the recalls done. Especially the 929 fork recall. And check the lowers as they crack. Recall replacements were exactly the same and also cracked.

I just have my ear to the ground on them.
This one’s only got 900 miles on it, think it needs a fi unit and needs a light restore!

My CBR600 F3’s is hardly in airflow, under the panel beside the seat. I fitted a little PC fan on top of mine to promote a little cooling and it hasn’t popped recently.

Hey all, my varadero is looking exceedingly tired, it's an ex police bike so it's mainly been sprayed white by them and has no Honda graphics. Can anyone recommend a source for good decals?
Some of the fairing fasteners are cracked, I'd hoped I could pick up some used fairings to add some colour to it but they're more than the bike itself, so I guess it's araldite and bolts to repair instead!
I also considered some kind of wrap/graphics for the plastics instead of decals - any experience with them? -

Your bike isn't modern. ;) Some of the honda reg/recs didn't even have fins!

Great response to the F9 body armour video:
Any frame modifications, make sure the welds look nice and like stacked pennies. Anything dodgy, walk. Try and buy from the person that did the work. Read the person.
Eire is weird. Bike wise, look at Germany and France. Always up for a bit of silly Ness. ;)
Is there no MOT thing for bikes? France are clamping down on bike mods, I think, but not looked in to it for years
