  • I am, just PM'd

  • Does anyone local to me in SE London have a rear dynamo light that can/would like to sell please?

  • is it a bad idea to mount a front light on the side of the fork? Is the crown or even the bar a better place for visibility's sake?

  • handlebar is also an option, but if mounted upside down you need specific models.

  • I've been running mid-fork mounts for ages to make space for a dog basket. Haven't died.

  • Hello I have something that's really just beer money, Busch & Muller. £3? Location SE4 near Lewisham Way

  • I won't be offended if your response is 'That's too basic'!

  • dm'd gratefully!

  • Some people find mounting a light lower down to give a better contrast to potholes and other obstacles in the road. If by visibility you mean other road users seeing you, then you are best having a light on your helmet. Some evidence has shown that moving lights are much more effective than bright lights to get people to notice you.

  • I've had mine under my rack/basket for 8+ years and not died.

  • does anyone know what size spade connectors a secula plus takes?

  • Hi all, I am taking delivery of a Specialized Turbo Creo for commuting duties and want to put a dynamo light set up on this. the problem I have is that the hubs are boost spacing with a 12mm axle and 24h, are there any dynamo hubs that fit this criteria? I have found boost with a 15mm axle or non boost with a 12mm axle.
I have thought about getting the non boost then just using a 5mm spacer each side to take up the slack- good idea or not?
Also not sure I could have a higher 32h spoke count on the front with the 24h on the back

  • B+M are always the tiny ones… what are they? Think the ‘male’ part is 3.5mm or something like that

  • How much money do you want to spend?
    The hubs do exist:

You can always use a higher spoke count on the front wheel compared to your rear wheel. It may look a bit odd, but that is about it.

Another option would be to get a 15 mm dynamo hub for boost and use a 15 to 12mm thru axle adapter.

  • I guess a 28h front with a 24h rear wont look too out of place and I totally didnt think about the adaptor axle thing- thank you

  • SON are bloody expensive- not sure I could spend too much over £100 on the hub- its looking like the whole set up is going to be around £250 with an SP hub

  • Why would you not run lights off the battery?

  • This. @harv4130 your bike has a huge battery, don't see the need for Dyno hub.

  • Is this easy to rig up? I've got dynamo on my other bikes and the drag won't be an ussue!

  • No ebike mechanic or anything, but it should be as easy as installing a splitter somewhere and plugging lights in.
Maybe there even is a splitter already.

  • I don't know about your bike but on Shimano Steps it's really easy, the motor has 2 ports specifically for that purpose on the NDS.

  • Do Supernova not make the e3 triple any more? Is there an equivalent with the same amount of light power? I was going to get a couple of sets for some of my other bikes but not if they're only making commuter options.

  • thanks all- I have purchased the Specialized cable splitter and some e-bike lights so no need to worry about dynamos etc. really appreciate the input.

  • My dynamo setup is: Shimano UR705 dynamo, B&M IQ-X and Secuzed lights. Front one has standlight working every time I stop, but the back one immediately turns off then. Is it intended? Wiring problem?

  • The UK distributor is Amba distribution. You could give them a call. The lady who runs it, I think her name is Ruth, is lovely and very knowledgeable about the range
