The guttering at the front has been upgraded to a #thicc, turgid baton.
There are also loads of terraces where 2x, sometimes 3x, houses all share the same single down-pipe without issue... at least, that's what I told myself to justify this. I have no idea what I'm doing.

Yeah, in most circumstances it should be fine, and in those when it's not, most guttering arrangements will struggle (we have some shared gutters, and they overflow when things get bad, but it's like 3-4 times a year, so not worth doing anything about).

Our rear downpipe does duty for two houses in one direction and one in the other. I'm plumbing in a 200 litre water butt and hope it to be full a lot of the time.

Didn't think you could do that under PD, but it's a neat idea, presuming the single run of guttering on the original pitched roof can take all the water off it.
