I’ve just redone my bathroom.
That's a fancy way to gloat about your bowel differences.

This looks so much better than the usual shed-on-roof.

This is exactly what I want. Same paint as on the walls?
Thanks for helping me to see the light -

This is so hot. Love the flush doors.
How tall is the skirting?
-
• #9984
Ha. No worries. Have similar one in the utility room too, plenty of pre and not pre primed strips in B&Q.

Fanx. And yeah flush doors for the win, although I the one I had done in my upstairs bathroom cracked in loads of places as it wasn’t built right so I’ve had to put a surround round it. Oh hold up, you mean the cupboard doors, yeah fuck have gubbins round them like some weird borrower portals.
Maybe 18mm x 58? Upstairs I’ve just fitted is 18x47mm maybe?

Have you used the same emulsion on the skirtings too? Does it stand up alright to getting bashed with the hoover etc?

White aluminium channel on 3 sides with a piece of glass siliconed in. Glass is from Jat Glass, who do a special coating for showers which works surprisingly well.

Yeah I think so, and yeah, no issues, but it’s a low traffic area.

Nice, looks great!
Would you mind sharing your source of white powdercoated aluminium channel profile?

Is there a forum approved/reccomended arch. technician of choice for resi loft developments? In SE13 if it helps narrow anyone down
-
• #9991
the entire flat loft roof is one contiguous surface (no step-down between large dormer and small dormer), which is pitched towards the front
Doesn't this mean raising the roofline - i.e. the back of your house is now the highest point, not the ridgeline of the OG roof, to achieve enough pitch?
Or am I misinterpreting how this works completely (likely tbf)

Here's a pic, it's a little more complex than just a single pitched plane.

Sorry, can’t seem to find it anymore which probably means the builder sourced it…

I opted for one of those shower cut outs for shampoo etc. The builder (completely shit) actually forgot to do it then added it afterwards. It's not a huge shower cubicle (1000x800), so is quite close to the main body of water. It gets super scummy over time and gets wet every shower, not really draining out as it's flat. Is this par for the course or is there anything that I can do? Hoping someone's been through similar - cheers

Wow. Where to start.
Sorry about the horrific 'builder'.It should have a small fall on it so it runs out. There shouldn't be metal coping, but I guess that's there as they cut the tiles to put it in.
Beyond lifting the bottom tiles and adding a fall and re tiling, you're left with just pull all that horrid mastik off and putting some.new nicer stuff on. Anything is a bodge unless you take it out and re tile the wall.

• #9997
Me too and thanks. Proper shit. So hopefully just taking the cutout bottom tiles out and redoing it with a slope?
Regarding anything being a bodge unless I take it out - are you talking entire wall?

You could get a stainless steel box made, like a small kitchen sink?
That way you wouldn't have to mess with the tiles, just take the strips off and glue in?
Imagine this to be pretty straight forward if you find a good place that does nice stainless for kitchens.
Probably more expensive than taking bottom out and making those tiles new, but that sounds like it would take ages. -
• #9999
Well you'd need to knock the box out, re board it and then tile it. And unless you tiled the whole walls you'd be able to see it existed.
Yes bottom row off, use something to make a fall. Not sure what would be best, fall doesn't need to be big. Good shower niche fall.
That coping can't be stainless steel as it's rusting. Might be worth replacing that with something better, if it'll come off easily.

Basically this, but in the size you need.

Sounds like you're still carrying the shame though.
Give yourself a break, and don't beat yourself up about it.
