  • Ding dong! What a result.
    Looks great 👌

  • Missed this. Looks marvellous!

  • also forgot to comment the other week - looks so good, a real timeless classy feel to it đŸ‘ŒđŸ»

  • Thanks a lot, we’re really happy with it.

  • Phwoarr!

    Which sink have you got?

  • It’s from smeg, found it in a sale somewhere. Think I paid about ÂŁ200. They’re just pressed and/or welded metal but the different brands vary quite a lot in price.

  • What did you plan this in?

We want to gut our kitchen and replace most stuff in it but it's hard to visualise end results, layout options and since it's tiny we want to get it right to make best use of space.

  • If nothing better IKEA kitchen planner is a good starting point to get a sense of the space, and is free/browser based

    https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/planners/kitchen-planner/

  • Thanks, will have a look.

aka I'll send it to my missus because I have zero interest in home renovations but by the same token god help her if she chooses something I don't like. :D

  • Kitchen looks great - what colour option was the Marmoleum? looking at this option, and liking this neutral colourway

  • As @branwen says, mostly IKEA kitchen planner.

  • Thanks! I believe the colour is called ‘orbit’. Sort of greyish greenish. They change colour after a while, all the marmoleum stuff looks a bit yellow fresh out of the box but this fades in UV light.

  • 👍 cheers!

  • I had my kitchen in my old flat done by Wren and the planner was excellent as it was a tricky space with a sloping dormer roof, they found solutions and suggested things that I wouldn’t have considered.
I wouldn’t get a kitchen from them again due to the installer they used but a site visit/plan/3d tour is free.

  • Thanks for the tip.

Missus came up with 3 designs last night. The best one though would require moving the sink and all the bullshit that that involves so dunno if I'm prepared to deal with that. The second best would still require new sink, new washing machine, etc. as well as all the cupboards but less plumbing.

  • one thing I found in a small space was the size of the small units, different manufacturers had different sizes beyond the standard 600 so with one it would be a filler panel but another it would mean a small but useful cupboard/wine storage

Do you have a dishwasher? you mentioned washing up in the sink?
we inherited a slimline one and it’s changed our lives, wouldn’t be without one now.

  • No dishwasher. The missus doesn't like them and does the washing up so I'm not complaining.

I think I'd prefer the cupboard space over a dishwasher too.

The cool thing about having a 1BR flat is we rarely host anyone due to space so we don't have lots of dishes.
