Whilst I'm here, my hearing is shagged recently. Are the free tests from Boots/Specsavers any good or should I just throw myself at the mercy of my rubbish GP practice?

No point going to a GP for a general hearing problem. Ears have been outsourced from GP surgeries to Boots/Specsavers/etc anyway.

Specsavers sent my report to my GP who prescribed hearing aids but also sent me for a MRI scan

Thanks, I'll just go straight to Boots or somewhere then! It's been about a decade since I last had issues which were sorted out at the GP so things must have changed.
