  • Nagaoka MP-110 is decent for the asking price.

Ended up going with this, managed to pick one up for £95 if I can get away without paying customs!

  • I still have my worn one. Really enjoyed it for a year or 2.

  • I'm thinking of opening up my studio/record storage to any diggers.

Could be evening or weekends (definitely not every w/e) , and strictly by appointment.
    Croydon area

If anyone's keen pls dm me. Thanks
I've got most genres covered, couple of 1000s to look at currently.

  • They're maybe like £40 for a replacement one, from CDJapan. I'll confirm all is good if and when mine arrives if you like?

  • I'm not using it now I have the AT VM95SH. I would be interested if yours comes through without customs though as the replacement styli from the UK are quite a bit more money. I think I paid about £110 for the cart about 5 years ago.

  • I think about this quite regularly too. I can't see why it wouldn't attract buyers but it seems like it would be quite tough as a seller. Have you thought about trying to hire a hall locally and get a small fair together. I have the occasional daydream about that.

  • You can ask them to mark it as a gift and if it's coming in under£39 it should go through.

  • I have plenty of opportunities already to showcase my stock at various events (record fairs, festivals...) but the issue is that I always leave so much stock at home as I can only take so many records with me.
I did a few pop-ups last year with another couple of other sellers locally in S25.
Sounds like you might want a table at our next one! :D

  • The cartridge has just arrived and I didn't have to pay customs.

  • Thanks for letting me know. A bargain then. Hope you enjoy it, I had many happy hours with mine.

  • Certainly! There were quite a few things on there that are about half the price they are here, air mail postage was pretty cheap if you fancy the risk and/or 8 week wait

  • I don't suppose anyone is using this are they?

    https://pypi.org/project/discogs-alert/

I have been trying to get it working for weeks. I have some reasonable software understanding but not python, I have been working through examples but keep hitting a wall with this package.

I have setup a telegram bot for dealing with the alerts and have linked to my discogs account via my personal token.

I realise my lack of knowledge is the issue, but would love to know if someone actually has it working and I am not just wasting my time on something that doesn't actually work.

I have tried to contact the developer but they do not respond.

  • I’m very interested in this. Will give it a go when I get a chance and see if I can get it working. The dev says he’s happy to be contacted by the looks of it so worth giving them a shout

  • Let me know how you get on. I have contacted them twice and had no response.

  • I can't even install it, there's no 'setup.py' file in the package. Fallen at the first hurdle...

  • I managed to install it via pip

  • I just did the same, with a little help from chatGPT I've reached this roadblock:

It seems like downgrading webdriver_manager to version 3.9.1 didn't
    resolve the issue.

It appears that there's an incompatibility between the version of
webdriver_manager you have installed and the discogs_alert package.

Given the current situation, you might need to reach out to the
maintainers of discogs-alert to report this issue, as it might require
a fix or update from their end to ensure compatibility with the latest
    versions of webdriver_manager.

Alternatively, you can try using a different version of Python that is
officially supported by both packages. You could create a virtual
environment with a compatible Python version and install the packages
    there.

Another option is to try a different alerting service provided by
discogs-alert if available, or explore other similar packages that may
    meet your requirements.

  • From memory (and I have been messing with this on and off for months!). I had a mismatch to do with chrome driver (selenium). I think I managed to sort that by but that just created another error message!

  • How annoying. I've wasted an hour on this so that's my lot! I've emailed the dude too, will see if he fancies replying to me

  • It is annoying, it would be great if we could get it going and sending 'live' alerts.

  • Someone mysteriously dropped this into shop I work on the same day that he painted that pic in Finsbury Park. I cycled past pissed as a fart on the night it happened. So now thinking there’s a chance that I am actually banksy. It’s a mad record.

  • Thanks for reaching out! While I can't speak in much detail without seeing the specific error, I did release a new version of discogs_alert (0.0.20) yesterday afternoon, completely by chance and independently of your message, haha. That version did fix a lot of issues with the webdriver stuff in general. Would you be able to update (pip install --upgrade discogs_alert) and try again, and then if you still see an error just copy and paste it here so I can take a look.

  • Oh great, what a coincidence. I may have a play later if I get time. Good to see the web driver side of things has some issues and it wasn't just me!

    Thanks!

  • I've got it working! Terminal threw a huge error about currency conversion but shortly after I got a message about one item on my list on telgram, so I guess it's working

  • Amazing!!!!!

Hopefully I can as well. My idea was to have it sat on a pi running all the time. I have missed so many cheap copies on my want list because of the daily email.

Did you just run it command line to test?
