After riding it today and working out what the lowest gear would be if I swap the 30/46t combo for a 36t or 38t single ring. I think I’m going to do that. It just makes more sense to me to go 1x on it.

Is the derailleur set low as possible to the rings? Is it parallel to the rings?

Is the chain a piece of crap?

What kind of chainrings?

Yes, yes, no - it’s a brand new Deore 10 speed chain.

It’s a Stronglight Escape chainset and the rings are just the stock ones I think. Not to worn. They’ll likely be for b what, 8 speed chain? So could be the combination of those with the 10 speed chain.

Have ordered a ring to go 1x anyway.
