Is that what I just saw? Didn't realise you had one of those funny forks.

Excuse the late response @launchpadboi but I’ve now measured the mulberry SimWorks shift outer and have 210cms leftover. You’re welcome to it for a donation of £10 to the PCRF. I’ll cover postage. No worries if not.

no worries at all, have sent you a pm

Dibs
More to the point I think we’d all like to hear this sites foremost weight weenie justify their sudden move to the heaviest fork on the market, I can only imagine this is to more optimally move margiela from the chazza to your archive store.

dibs noted.
it will make the bike a bit front heavy for sure, but i'd rather view it as a premium option for a more common retro mtb cargo setup, such as a stridsland fork and a pelago commuter rack. the lightest barnacle (1.5kg) and a large pelago commuter (1.2kg) with 15kg carrying capacity tip the scales at 2.7kg, while the clydesdale weighs 2.5kg with greater capacity.
might indeed come in handy with bringing the clobber and homeware back home from the west london chazzers, much looking forward to these cruises.

now that the pacenti man’s restock delay and sudden clydesdale have changed the course of the build slightly, there are certain questions to ponder;
it’s supposed to be a fun build anyway, but how messed will the angles be with a 400mm fork on a frame designed for a ~445mm fork? am i right assuming the oversized rear wheel will further cement the unrideability? a cargo pursuit?
how to build the front wheel? bmx rims mostly come in 36 hole count and nice second hand disc hubs don’t tend to. i’d like to have a box section ish polished silver rim to loosely match the rear. the initial research bore some fruit but nothing too spectacular. a close enough match to the pacenti (why is everything pacenti lol) pari-moto rear tyre at least has been found:
saving the 32h front hub i already have for the inevitable full 650b xc/speedster setup would be sensible. this justifies obtaining another front hub in 36h. everyone will say dynamo but i’m not sure if there’s an affordable enough sp or son in the pipeline. australian ebay has a nice nos hope bulb in silver, but australia is a touch far-fetched. i’ll keep begging on retrobike.

Need to double check etrto but lots of other cool 20” rims in the trials sphere.
Also bmx rims should be readily available in 32h as well

I've got a 20 inch dynamo disc front wheel that I could sneakernet to hayley's birthday celebration for cheaps? It's from an orbea katu so is heavy duty/weighs a kg. It's black and shimano dynamo though. Commuter spec.

i couldn't find any silver ones in 32h online. would you have any recs on where to look?
-
• #265
greatly appreciate the offer but as this is more a lifestyle than utility build, i'll try to go with silver bits to match the rear.
-
• #266
I spent some time looking for similar rims, ended up with a full utility black halo/gusset to depression/sp. Heavy and uninspiring.

• #267
Autocorrect deore to depression is perfect for these wheels.

Spa cycles seem to have stock

They had the silver reduced to £54 recently, shoot them an email and beg lol

i meant the rims, but it's good to know the sp is that cheap, wasn't aware of. might even make me get invested in the coolest light front light position ever aka under rack.
-
• #272
looks like i'm settling to odyssey aerospace rim, which isn't exactly the same shape as the rear but close enough and has very (southern) hip hop aesthetics.

was going through the tag on instagram to find reference builds with a similar geo and realised i'll either need to sustain a towering spacer stack or find a lightweight (high) riser. is there anything like sim works cow cow but with a bit more backsweep? velo orange klunker in its 792g glory won't cut it this time.
been also thinking is there a risk of something happening to the head tube or the joints around it as it's thinner tubing? i'd assume it gets exposed to more strain than with a normal xc fork application.
new page, new jokes...
