I don't know about that age but my mum had a 2003 220 CDI estate and we kept it for 12 years until she bought an A4 estate brand new in 2015. By comparison, the 2003 Merc felt bigger inside, more comfortable, and better constructed.
That's not helpful at all I'm sure.

Apart from general Merc poor quality wiring and bits (subframe) going rusty.

I bought a 2014 C220 Cdi Coupe a week ago and am loving it so far after a couple of 5+hr trips in bank holiday traffic. Apparently the post-facelift ones are better for not having rusty subframes according to one random forum post I read somewhere. I thought the facelift headlights made it look a bit more current.
Really nice inside and nice drive (I think), feels very premium and generally everything works and is nice to use so far. I tried to find Distronic (their adaptive cruise) and a sunroof but in the end mileage/age/colour won out.

not quite in the C63 bracket, but anyone have knowledge of the Merc C220 cdi estate? Looking for a long range reliable cruiser, no need to thrash it. c10 years old with c80k miles and FSH can be had for sensible money. They look smart. Have done some reading but don't really know. Small family sized trips 3x pa to the continent mainly on good A roads, supermarket runs in UK, plan to keep it till they ban them.
