  • Ah great.

Except not great as the reviews suggest they've messed them up (different cut, no zips on pockets, thinner material etc), surprise surprise. why can't companies leave working products alone.

Looks like I'll be looking elsewhere now after years of faithful service.

Any recommendations anyone? Found the Swrve shorts too thick for summer.

  • The Chapeau gravel short have a really nice a thin material and zipped pockets. Their main flaw are the adjustment clasps on the side, they both fell off first time in the washing machine and
I had to replace them with G-hooks.
Rapha seems to be unable to make useful shorts anymore, I remember I had some kind of touring shorts that were awful, rigid material, a rubberized button that was almost impossible to close and a single tiny zipped pocket in a strange place that barely fitted
    a single key.

  • This season, I'll be mostly wearing .. OrNot lightweight mission shorts.. but have not worn them yet, having much success with the trousers. Possibly tricky to get.

  • After thinking the same and asking for alternatives here a while ago, I saw the technical shorts on the AU website, got some and I have to say I like them even better.

The material is thinner and more comfortable. There are zipped side pockets instead of the back pocket, which is useful for a phone. The most significant thing they improved on them is the new button, though.

Also got some lightweight MTB shorts and they're pretty good too. Haven't been riding in them yet so can't review that aspect but they worked well for a hike.
