Thanks for the response! It’s a couple of small hole on the front side at the upper thigh area so not too much of a high stretch location. I’m based in Switzerland/Germany unfortunately but I’ll get some patches next time I’m back in the UK. Cheers!

I would kill for a hydration vest with some hike a bike straps/waist belt built in... would love it they could be proto'd with the sponsor team

It doesn't work well, no better than just slinging the bike on your shoulders.

Hmm, I've not yet got much success out of the shoulder carry with a fully loaded bike - still not sure if my sub 60kg body puts it at enough of a disadvantage due to PWR, even initially getting it off the bike ground I've felt my knees disconcertingly pop

Get down the gym and do some squats! But yes for a small person and a heavy bike it's bad combo. But I can assure you trying to get a backpack with a bike strapped to it will he worse.
Move some weight into a backpack lighten the bike. Then you can also rest the bike on the backpack. -

Linking two discussions - is it possible to repair the original backpacks? I put a small hole in mine (which is great - thank you @Chopsicle a few years ago) with some poorly packed supplies and I'd like to stop it from spreading...?

I'd have thought the repair patches would work.

Out in a walk and a dog jumped up and bit a tear in my jacket (moron of an owner “sorry, I didn’t want him to jump up” - it was the biting not the jumping that was the issue!).
It’s goretex, possible to repair?

you can use tenacious tape, if it was RAB you could have sent to repair

Arcteryx now have a rebird outpost in Covent garden - if you're still warranty covered they should sort you out
-
• #1588
Owner should be paying. Easily repairable though.
-
• #1589
Thanks, had a look at their warranty and it doesn’t cover accidents, rips or tears
Edit - I have contacted their customer service nonetheless

Owner should be paying (and muzzling their dog if it’s such a biting risk) but was so taken aback that I didn’t take details.
Thanks for the link, have sent them a query

rain jacket 3.0 vs allroad pertex
i assume the rain jacket is more of a roadie cut (tighter, shorter at the front, etc) than the allroad. And perhaps the pertex is more durable and waterproof at the expensive of weight and bulk?
-
• #1592
@cookiemonster They are pretty much the same, instead of iterating with numbers the racier fitting jacket is called allroad. If you want heavier duty more relaxed fit then you want Zoa rain shell.

Ah, cool, thanks. I’m after a replacement for my decade-plus old assos racecape. The material has worn to the point that I managed to put my hand through the middle of the sleeve a couple of days ago. It’s still waterproof where it matters - around the the shoulders, arms, chest. It’s old school plastic bag where you need proofing and a mesh where you don’t.
Anyway. The time has come. Race cape it is.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for one of the Cargo Vests, in either black or orange (but I would prefer black).
If anyone has one and is thinking of selling please let me know!
Thanks -

Has anyone tried and tested the Cargo Vest with a 2L bladder? Does it work well or would a traditional hydration pack sit more nicely?

Rain jacket 3 in medium turned up today - it’s tiny. I’m medium in everything (including a couple of Albion tops) but I can just squeeze into this if only have an baselayer on, can’t do it if I have a long sleeve jersey over the baselayer - and the arms are an inch short.
Do they normally size up so small? I’m not going to be shocked if someone said there was a batch of smalls that were sold out as mediums.
Is the all road pertex thing the same size as the rain jacket?

I tried the zoa rain on in condor and it was a true medium . They are designed to layer up underneath but the medium insulated (not the zoa ) i had to sell on as the medium was too small for me.
-
• #1598
In relation to sizing; does anywhere else stock Albion kit other than Condor? I want to try some stuff on when visiting London next week.
-
• #1599
Mmm - the zoa insulated in medium was the right size for me, but I found the cut very baggy - quite a square shape rather than tapering from shoulders to waist.

Pinarello had a few bits but i dont know if they still do. Is the shop still there by assos
Lightweight Rucksack discussion reminds me; we have new version in stock in a few weeks in a new Pertex fabric, Endurance DWR, with tweaked design.
But I've turned up a few original black ones a in studio move (long story). Someone was asking for one a while back - shout if you are still after one!
