  • Hey, anyone with a T800, or 2002 era Cannondale, got my eye on a T800 as a light tourer, but the sizing seems a bit odd.

Fella selling it said it's a 52cm (CTC) seat tube, and 55cm top tube, but also claims it's good for 6ft+.

As someone 6ft, is this just some quirky Cannondale thing, as usually wouldn't go near a 52 as too small.

    Thanks

  • usually wouldn't go near a 52 as too small.

It’s not a 52 though, it’s a 55. Seat tube length has no bearing on fit whatsoever on its own. It only affects how much seatpost you’ll need exposed. I had a caad12 which was like 57cm ctc and I’ve got a custom Ti frame with almost identical geometry except it has something like a 49cm seat tube. Saddle and bars are exactly the same place, same stem length etc.

  • Alright Mike Burrows, aka Phildas

  • Yes that's fair enough, get what you're saying. I was about to say as someone with all legs and short body I don't like loads of seatpost, but then I saw my AWOL leaning on the wall and how much seatpost there was haha
