Why would you not run lights off the battery?

Is this easy to rig up? I've got dynamo on my other bikes and the drag won't be an ussue!

No ebike mechanic or anything, but it should be as easy as installing a splitter somewhere and plugging lights in.
Maybe there even is a splitter already.

I don't know about your bike but on Shimano Steps it's really easy, the motor has 2 ports specifically for that purpose on the NDS.
