I've had two sets of the Cambridge Audio buds. Got the second set as a warranty replacement for wouldn't charge/wouldn't connect (were fine when they did connect) and they had just the same problems. Annoying as they sounded good and were in a much smaller case than the vast majority.
Replaced them with some flavour of Samsung Galaxy buds. Sound good, small case and solid connection every time. Loads on eBay as they come free with a lot of Samsung phones.

I finally gave up on the Cambridge Audio buds that sounded great but dropped connection/wouldn't charge and crashed constantly.
£80 on Sony WF-C700N buds which are noise cancelling but won't make me cry if I lose them like a set of WF-1000MX5
