  • Any experience of Terreno Dry Gravel Endurance?

Been using the 35c ones for a few summers, before the "Gravel Endurance naming", wanted to give it a go in 45mm but seem hard to come across from a quick Google search. Also, what is the difference between 700x45c vs 29x1.75 - none?

  • Also, what is the difference between 700x45c vs 29x1.75 - none?

    The spec chart shows:

    700x45c 45-622 Anthracite 530 g
    29x1.75 47-622 Anthracite 550 g
  • It seems that this is just a rename of TNT and TLR casings to Endurance and Lite respectively. Makes sense, as the old naming gave no clue about the differences, as both are tubeless ready.
I have been using these tyres in 700x47 size in my Sutra LTD for mixed riding, both road, gravel and a bit of singletrack, been quite happy. Good alrounder, tread is more grippy than it looks. On the bad side rear tyre wears quite quickly, I got almost bald spot in the middle after less than 1000 km.

  • Not sure if best place to ask, but what's everyone's go to repair patches? Used the last of my (not confidence inspiring) self stick ones this morning.

  • For tubes? I use Park Tools quick ones now for the most part (unless the weather is nice and I'm not in a hurry, in which case I'll use proper glue-on patches). They last for some months and then you might find they bubble up a bit and fail at which point I'll use the normal patches and glue from Rema Tip Top or whatever they're called.

  • Rema Tip Top, that's what I was looking for!

Find self adhesive ones a bit naff, but good in a pinch (no pun intended) I guess.

  • I've started using them a bit more. They didn't work for me in TransAm in the moist cold McKenzie Pass and I've had them fail in 40C+ in Italy but generally they've worked pretty well and are quicker than normal patches and I don't like putting new tubes in for every little puncture because inevitably I won't fix them at home like I say I will.

  • Seconded on failure under heat, used to drive me nuts hearing the hiss while stopped in the sun. Good to get a quick roadside fix, but at which point might as well stick a new tube in and fix the puncture with proper vulcanized patches and glue at home

  • Did panracer ever make the gravel kings in 28c that had a similar tread to this or was it only in slicks in 28?!

  • Pretty sure 32mm is the narrowest they have done the SK.

  • From searching online I felt that was the case, annoying as I’ll end up having to put 28 front and rear so they match with the slicks

  • What’s the go to 20x2” ish (406) street tyre?
    Ta

  • Could you squeeze 20x2.2? If so Continental Contact Urban - well loved on here with good reason.

  • They do a 26mm gksk, don't think it's tubeless (if that matters to you).

    Found em.

  • I don’t think I’ll be able to go that big :(

  • Bugger! They do a 1.6" if you can stomach losing the volume...

  • Anyone got any good condition 28c road tubeless tyres they'd sell? Something like Corsas. I'm not spending £140 or whatever on new ones

  • Thank you. Bought 'em!

  • Want some road tyres for my gravel bike for riding the Wild West Country 800km. Thinking 32-35mm for comfort, tubeless, and something so I’m not fixing punctures all the time.

Anything I should be looking at or should I just shell out for 32mm GP5Ks? Are gravelking slicks any good?

  • I like Gravelking slicks but I've replaced both sets of mine with Terravail Ramparts. They just seem like a nicer version of the same sort of thing to me! Grippy, smooth, fast and I've yet to get a puncture after a few months riding in all weathers. They're pretty pricey at RRP though.

  • Tubes... Apologies if this has been covered but I UTFS didn't give me anything.

TPU inner tubes. I'm planning on putting some magene exar ultralight 700x23/28 tubes inside some 32c gp5000 tyres (on hunt aero rims).

Is this safe? I've not used tpu tubes before and don't want explosive death. I usually just run light 700x25 butyl tubes and it's always been fine.

  • disc or rim brake?
