Just to add to @doubleodavey's suggestion, if you get off the DLR at Westferry, not only does this give you easy access to Poplar/20.5 miles, you can also walk the other way to about the 15 mile point. So you get to see people twice, and get to appreciate just how badly five miles round the Isle of Dogs has affected them!
If you're feeling particularly mobile you could start at Creek Road, Deptford (7 miles), then jump on the DLR at Greenwich to head to the Docklands. But avoid Greenwich itself, which is heaving. As is the Embankment.

Damn. How true to size do they fit? Are the EU 45 or 46 equivalent?
-
• #30104
All sounds good, hope the new Metaspeed work out better for you.
I managed a long run without needing a shit for the first time in ages yesterday.
Win!

If they’re like the earlier versions they’re true to size. I have the UK10 / EU45 in Alphafly, Vaporfly and Pegasus and they all feel about the same size
(Same size I wear in ASICS and Saucony)

They have Alphaflys on Sportpursuit (the older style) if the above are no good

Thank you and thank you @doubleodavey that's super helpful

Just purchased, can’t wait to run in them, they have had rave reviews.

The physio has told me to start couch25k as a path to recovery.
This is going to be fun and infuriating -

The orthopaedic team at hospital told me that I shouldn't run if my ankle hurts the other day. They also said that my recovery seems to be progressing, so I didn't need a steroid injection. When I told them I have a private one booked for the 8th of April, they said that it was a very good idea. Just not on the NHS
Good luck with the C25K

they said that it was a very good idea. Just not on the NHS
That seems to be the general vibe right now. I’m praying that in future we can drag the NHS back from the brink.

Tweaked my back on Monday - still feels sore. Probs should continue to rest?
-
• #30117
I found running with a bad back went one of two ways: mild recovery or really bad idea.
-
• #30118
Running is mostly wondering if you just need to warm up and you’ll feel better or wondering if you’ll ever move comfortably again.
-
• #30119
Yeah I managed a pb at the back squat but at what expense. Had been building mileage back up to mid 60s and hoping to be at 70-80 for April/May so could do without an injury tbh

Managed an 18:37 at Parkrun (Valentines Park) yesterday. Final Km was 3:34 as the pack I was in broke apart and got worried about slowing. 17:xx feels pretttttty close now.

Ace, consistency & patience should get you that sub 18.
Look for a fast course on a float day too ;)
Thankfully they aren't UK 9.5.
