To be legal in the uk is some thing like 75 percent of the light must be let through on the windscreen and side windows.
So doubt (but not unheard of) that any manufacturer would sell something non road legal.

That weird colour change windscreen shit is Chameleon Window Tint Film it lets 82.% of light through and at the moment is 100% legal, but as you can’t see who is driving or what they are up to in there, that will change soon. I think it look fucking shit.

Looking at the MOT checker, look at the brake discs/pads
Maybe look how much a replacement windscreen is as that is mentioned. Car has done most of the miles in the last few years so servicing such gearbox oil changes. Check the cabin filter to the Aircon as that will show how the car has been looked after.
Why are they saying it is a bad idea

amey, mainly because he’s a playa hater and doesn’t want to see me shine. Father-in-law says “Just had quick look. Too old. Would dispute description of "charming and elegant."”

Cube is never a bad idea

He's a massive hater and incredibly indecisive

It is a cube they are going to be old, is fil willing to gift you more money ;) then I'd get someone to look at JDM ones.
Would be more interested in condition. Do you know what you are looking at? Road trip to go and have a look at it?
The only thing that worries/concerns me is the sticker on the front bumper.
Have you gone on to any of the cube forums? See if there is anything coming up? Remember interiors can be cleaned, exteriors are fine to be marked, London will mean you will get dented and scratched doing the shop. All about the mechanics and no Chasis rust or damage.

Can I have an amen ;)

Belatedly discovered that the ulez scrappage scheme was extended out to everyone, so getting £2k for our ancient S-max - about double what it's worth - and shipping it off for a new life as a ukranian armoured personal carrier.
Still need a big car for a couple more years of university-ferrying so planning on a cheap Octavia estate before I can finally get back to an MX5. -
• #77411
Can I interest in you an over-powered Skoda Superb that's definitely more expensive than a cheap Octavia estate?
-
• #77412
Definitely more expensive and significantly less estatey than I'm after.

Shame it's a 3.6.
I like the number plate though, H2O isn't something that XJS has seen a lot of recently. -

I want a forum friendly 14k for it, which makes it the cheapest 280 available online, and given the low mileage, the fact it's been well maintained, had all the important services and fluids, just had discs and pads all around, makes it good value I think.
Incredible deal for someone. In some ways I prefer the hatchback to the estate, the Superb platform is so gargantuan that I personally see the use cases for the estate over the hatchback to be few and far between... unless you've got three kids and a German shepherd I guess.
Having driven this very car I can attest to it being an excellent example, also much prefer SE-L trim over SportLine, ultimate sleeper vibes!
I'd be all over it if I hadn't bought a 335i recently.

Don't know, the rear bumper irons had rusted through and I've never seen that.
Sold on eBay allegedly.
I bought a 5.3, that had a beautiful interior and I finally got the engine working and wve got the Aircon working. After two mots (pre purchase that must have been dodgy as I cleaned the underseal and found no metal...I flogged it.

Having a warranty is all good until you realise you can't book in for 2 months (with courtesy car) or 1 month (without courtesy car). I also experienced the issue of waking up feeling like death and knowing missing the drop off means another 4 weeks. My local indy is 1/2 weeks but they forgot to reconnect the air filter at my last service so the car sounded like a jet engine.
This morning the air con stayed on after switching the car off. Stayed on until I locked the car. Good job I'm already booked in at the dealer...
Anyway rant over!

Anyone had a Yaris?
Is having all the dials in the middle like this massively annoying?

You get used to it in a day. You can also simply pop the steering wheel and pedals off and swap to the other side when hopping on a booze cruise.
-
• #77422
That's a handy feature. Certainly moves it up the list.

Mini has similar. Ultimately it's better having them in front, but it's not a deal beaker and you have the little mini display.

I never found having the dials in the centre of the dashboard to be an issue on my old racecar, and racing does tend to highlight any ergonomic problems quite quickly.

How fragile are it leads?
I was changing my dis cap and Eaton the other week and since changing the car won’t start. I had to fuck about with the leads a lot.
Cheers!
I wanted an estate too but they have a 5k premium over the hatchback on average and that was a big chunk extra that I couldn't afford at the time.
