  • You can’t park there mate etc

  • boshing up the residential road too fast, clips my front wing, punts my car back several meters and flips into a merc and a vauxhall on the other side of the road.

  • Quick nick the cat

  • New bumper and wing at the minimum. Has the tyre moved back too so looks like beyond.

Bit of gaffa tape and the car is good to go.

  • The culprits (86yo) car ended up on its side. Residential street

Woah, time to hand over the keys old girl. Elderly drivers eh, worse than teenagers.

Let me guess what she said - "oops, wrong shoes".

  • really sorry to hear about this

  • Thanks. I've only had it off you for 4 months :(

  • If he hit your car hard enough to move it that far and it hit the front wheel I would guess that the whole of that corner plus the gearbox has been done.

  • If any Dorset/Wilshire-ish folk fancy a run out in your car this Sunday AM 8-10:30 to a venue nr Shaftesbury then this meet has you covered: https://www.instagram.com/comptoncoffeerun/

  • @lynx many thanks

  • Am fairly fucked off. Anyone want to sell me a car? Ideally a jazz replacement.

  • I saw a VW Up cargo today. I don’t know if it was a conversation or a real one, but quite a cool little van for an electrician to run. Nice job.
    ( not the one I saw )

  • Always likes the Ford Ka vans that they did for BT

  • Vestigial rear wiper is cute.

  • I'm thinking of moving on my NB MX5 for something a bit more suited to sitting on the motorway, which I think I'll be doing more of this year. I've also had it for quite a while and just fancied a change, even though I know I'll miss it. If I had two parking spaces I'd never get rid.

It's an '01 1.8vti Sport with 74k miles and the 6 speed, LSD, big brakes, sporty heated seats, all the right bits etc. It's also got a twin sports exhaust and a nice new roof with a heated glass window fitted a few years ago. Everything works, never wanted for anything and stored inside for most of its life - never failed an MOT while I've had it, and never had rust. I spent ages looking for a good one with the right options and it's done me really well.

Any interest here? I can find some non-instagram shots if so. Located in Manchester city centre:

  • Military surplus tent on the roof for that expedition look.

  • The Mini has been a bit of an annoyance recently, refusing to start (starter not cranking) every now and again for no discernible reason, only to come back to life. Made it pretty hard to diagnose until it was a bit more committed to this fault and stayed broke. Did a bit of research and found something cheap and an easy DIY to rule out and fingers crossed it’s brought it back to life. I’m hoping the ignition switch was the culprit. It feels so nice driving your car when you’ve tinkered with it, enjoyed taking it out for a blast and I’ll stop looking at 335i’s for a while. It’ll probably refuse to start again tmrw…

  • Any recommendations for an auto electrician in WImbledon /SW London area ?

Electric windows playing up (staying down) on Skoda roomster (seems quite a common Skoda issue).

  • If anyone's interested in purchasing a large family hatchback with silly performance, I'm ready to sell my Skoda Superb 280 because I want to try out some other cars.

    2016 Skoda Superb 280
    SE-L trim level
    4wd and 5sp DSG
Only 50k miles (just ticked over)
    2 owners (including me)
Options include DCC (electronically adjustable suspension)
    Radar cruise control
    Heated seats
Electric drivers seat with memory settings that include mirrors
    Android Auto/Car Play
    Auto lights and wipers

Just been serviced at Palace Motors in Crouch End and had new discs and pads all round
At 40k miles it had the very important DSG and Haldex services so don't need to worry about those for a few years
Brake fluid change done at the previous service too
You might remember I had a little bump last summer, it was purely cosmetic, no damage mechanical, mostly paint traded and a dent in the front wing. It's just been repaired and they've painted the front bumper and bonnet too so it's looking really great, no more stonechips

It's absolutely huge inside and in the boot, and as it's a hatchback rather than a saloon so the seats go down for even more storage. We've driven all over the country in it and bits of Europe and it's effortless to crush miles. One of the main benefits is that the boot is so big that you can pack bikes and luggage for a week and keep the main cabin free so you don't feel cramped while driving.
Full size adults can fit in the back with plenty of leg room too.

While it's got the same drivetrain package, brakes, and electronic wizardry like launch control as the other 2.0tsi VAG performance cars (Golf R, S3 etc), it doesn't look different to a diesel Superb, the only way you can tell it's the hot version is by the fact it has a 4x4 badge and real exhaust exits (diesels have fake exits) so you don't look like a boy racer or a try hard, it's a proper sleeper and will do a Racebox verified 4.1s 0-60.

I want a forum friendly 14k for it, which makes it the cheapest 280 available online, and given the low mileage, the fact it's been well maintained, had all the important services and fluids, just had discs and pads all around, makes it good value I think.

I'll take some pics this week if anyone is interested.

  • I noticed almost 50% of cars in Wiltshire seem to have a front window tint, are they actually any good at replacing sunglasses or is it just a fad? Also noticed a lot of newer Porsches with it and wondered if it was a factory option now.

  • Fuck this is cool.

Estate and I'd be on may over

  • Any reasons why this cube is a bad idea?

Both my consultant men (my father-in-law and user amey say this is a bad idea now)
