• Any recommendations for a modern, disc brake, mid depth wheelset that are relatively light, relatively durable to put on a potential nice summer bike wheelset? I'd like proper hooked rims, as I'm not convinced hookless is a good solution for consumers. Somewhere between 25 and 40mm rim dept would be great - I'm not looking for aero gainz, and would rather avoid instability in cross winds as it can be windy round here.

Currently looking at lightbicycle AR36 with DT Swiss 240 hubs and CX Rays, around £950 delivered for a full wheelset, and estimated weight of 1370g. Struggling to find much around that price point that comes close, without going to a much narrower rim, adding a chunk of weight, or changing to a cheaper hub that I don't think will be as durable as DT Swiss.

I'd change to a cheaper hub which would be exactly as durable as DT Swiss - 350 6-bolt. The extra weight is a price worth paying unless you're entering a weight weenie contest or vying for the podium in hill climbs.

I'd suggest considering the Bitex 312 hubs. Essentially the same weight as the 240s, a fair chunk cheaper and I've found them to be durable on the wheels I've got. They've got decent-sized bearings, and once you've got decent-sized bearings there's not really a whole heap to go wrong on a pair of hubs provided they don't explodinate. I've got a pair on the wheels on my Lynskey, and they're going strong after a fair few miles, including a week in the Dolomites and a week in the Alps last year.
