True, the vfr is a lovely bike, even the vtec, the annoying thing is getting the vtec valves checked needs a special tool.
Personally, for a commuter I'd get a big scooter, one of the ones that isn't nicked a lot.
Commuting by motorbike was fun apart from in traffic and then you needed a small slender bike.
This is my logic with the CBR600. Age aside, 600 is more than enough. 100-110hp is still more than some cars on the road, power:weight massive vs most cars. So, easy to overtake, easy to get in and out of trouble.
Very easy to throw about in traffic, very easy to get points on the license. Easy to sit under the little wind protection at legal speeds, and mostly comfortable while doing it.
Any engine bigger is just not worth it to me. 600’s will do distance without crying.
