Gazelle? Does anyone know anything about them?

What would you like to know? It’s a handsome yet ubiquitous gazelle city bike from the 70s/80s made from plain gauge chromoly tubing - sadly not a gazelle with any racing pedigree

Edit - ok noticed the peeled 531 Reynolds decal but I’m not sure it is 531… hmm… interesting

Some lovely lovely bikes on Marktplaats at the mo. An exception and an AA super. All too big for me.

A specimen in a 1970s colour you don't see very often on MP at the moment, the chrome fork crown is especially nice

I’m thinking of organising a pilgrimage gazelle ride to the factory in the summer this year… I get a very good discount on Eurostar through work so was thinking of train to Lille - ride half way and have a few beers then air bnb (between Antwerp/ Eindhoven maybe?) then ride to Dieren (in time to see the museum?) - then ride part way back or train it… anyone keen to join? @skullandbiscuits @Ifonlyiwerebelgian

I've already got one trip away on the bike pencilled in... If I suggest another one, I will end up divorced.

You should definitely do it though. It's just a nice part of the world to cruise around (especially if you like spotting bits of ww2 stuff scattered about). The museum is all very pleasant and the factory building is lovely.

I could potentially do this, I don’t really ride that much, the IT day job is taking over.

I would be keen to drive to somewhere between Antwerp/ Eindhoven, Airbnb, bosh some beers and ride to Dieren.

10 years ago I spent 1 year in Friesland and became quite fond of Palm beer.

This should also give me a kick up the arse to finish off building my Campagnolo Atlanta wheels.

2 years later and I still cannot find a 32h rim. Managed to collect a 28,32 & 36 so far.

Yep, quite awful! Looks like it came off an ancient Decathlon complete. But that'll have to come off anyway when a nicer bar/stem combo is fitted ;-)

Could do with a salsa stem as well. But I love the effort & dedication put into it.

The TVM having a 2024 refresh,

6800 groupset and some Use carbon hoops.

Just waiting on a cassette and chain to arriving, probably lower the shifters a bit too. Gonna change the Stonglight headset at some point thinking maybe a black Chris king if I could ever find one :/
