A PL mount to a camera, replacing an EF mount.

Well I have never dismantled/reassembled a camera before, but in lieu of a torque wrench that can accurately measure as little as 0.45Nm I would be going for snug up + blue thread lock.

Thanks - tbh I may just have to travel later tomorrow anyway now as a delivery is delayed from today so might just get the Kraftform 7440 to be safe.
Presuming these would be compatible?

Admittedly it's not clear from the item description, but it does appear to suggest the "chuck" fits 1/4" drive (and the bits fit in the chuck). I would go for it!

Doing it. Thanks. Feels like I've spent more in the past 24 hours on this job than I've spent all quarter.

It's a really nice bit of kit though. Tempted to buy one for myself, and I don't even need one.

Anyone with a Cambium, is the nose (around first rivet) slightly loose on the rails? Mine seems to wobble a bit there, but the T20 bolt under seems tight enough. Just the design of them where the rails sit?

Has anyone got a 1.5" to 1.25" crown race reducer/convertor?
I can only seem to find Wolftooth (airfreight from US) or the German online places. Surely a UK seller somewhere...

Whatโs good to wash an earlobe piercing with?
Iโm sceptical about buying from Amazon/eBay. And lots of conflicting advice about what to use. -

Saline solution - salt water.
Regularly. -

Dear oh dear, I expected better ๐
I need tapered to 1 1/4 not 1 1/8 unfortunately, plenty of those around.

For skin I'd use chlorhexidine gluconate, one of my surgeon colleagues would use iodine but I'm not a fan lol
-
• #121215
expected better
Fair enough, misread it.
If you have anything that's 1.25" at either end, throw it in the sea and start again, it will be quicker and cheaper.

Gusset does them.

Thanks, I can only see on their website EC44/40 or 30, but not 1 1/4?

I think this might convert a lower 1.5" EC bearing to 1.25" but I'm starting to lose the plot with the bearing dimensions...

I normally just boil some water with a load of salt in it and chuck the piercing in there for a bit.

I've got a few hundred USD in an envelope, what's the best way to convert them into pounds?
Should I just pay them into my bank and suck up the exchange cost or is there a better option? -
• #121222
I'd imagine a bank will have a better exchange rate than most. Almost certainly better than a separate forex high street shop
-
• #121223
Search for "travel money buy back" for comparison sites and you can sometimes lock in better rates than you'd get by walking in or that your bank will give you.

Have a look here
https://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/
There are a few on the Strand that normally do a better than average rate from memory. If it's only a few hundred then the difference in FX probably isn't going to amount to a massive amount compared to the hassle of going somewhere out of your way specifically to transfer it. -

Post office is a surprisingly decent option.
Hobby shops will sell 2mm hex drivers for a few quid.
What are you fastening? 0.45Nm should be just snugging up the screw/bolt.
