• I thought I’d share.
I had lobe tunnel spacer things for about 30 years in one ear. A 10mm and a 15mm not too extreme, but I got fed up losing rings and getting stuff caught it them in the end. So I decided to not bother wearing them and my ears looked awful. Previously I’d been told that to get the 15mm to close I’d need the chop and stitch done, but I’m tight so I’ve just been putting E45 cream on them everyday. 3 months in and I’m happy with how it’s going. Let’s face it, it took a lot longer to stretch my lobe than it’s taking to shrink back. I keep thinking about popping a 6mm back in, but then it’ll be a 7mm and then well you know how it goes.

  • I think the chop and stitch thing is only necessary if you’ve stretched too fast (though obv people’s skin elasticity varies quite a bit). My 30mm has gone down to basically nothing on one side, the other I keep weighted but also prob wouldn’t go back so well as it has some scar tissue from being impatient

  • I’m pretty sure the advice I was given ref stitching was more a sales drive by the studio to be honest. It also feeds into the whole instant results ideal that people buy into.
Well done on getting a 30mm down. As you say I think there’s a correlation between how long you took stretching to reversal.
