I've just emailed them and they replied straight away saying returns still accepted if you courier direct to them

i'm not sure if the end game is to have one website with different departments, or to keep the individual 'specialist' sites to increase footfall?
In the olden days, a lot of the apparently competing electronics stores on Tottenham Court Road were actually the same business with multiple store fronts. It's a model which is common on the internetz, and isn't likely to change any time soon. SEO can attempt to game algorithms, but the huge organic online footprint of Wiggle is worth more, even this thread helps them.

yeah i found this is especially prevalent in appliance spares – ordered some bits for a cooker hood and had the order cancelled as OOS. Then tried to find somewhere else, thought the other sites felt a bit familiar, and they're all trading names of ScrewFix Spares Ltd or whatever it was

I had the same, bought some spare part for a microwave and the payment went to Screwfix.

RIP Wiggle then?
Honestly I will miss them. 😢

That trading address seems to be not a million miles away from where they first started when they ran a shop.

1000 Lakeside, Suite 310, Third Floor, N E Wing,
This one? It’s a part of the former IBM office that was built for them on a landfill site north of Portsmouth. It was a major employer as you can imagine before they moved out and the site was split into smaller units. Southern Co-op use part of the same floor as Wiggle.
This was Wiggle head office for over 10 years I believe. Their Portsmouth distribution was a mile away on Southampton Road. The original Butlers Cycles seems to have been in Kassasin St, Southsea which is a 4 miles south of these locations -

If only we still had some down here. The few we have left are mostly workshops with a few everyday spares. Fortunately those are doing OK. I picked up a bike from the workshop earlier and had a quick chat. A lot of new bikes are a pain in the arse to work on for most so all those jobs are going their way he'd just spent 2 and half hours for them to change a rear hose on a full suss E-bike that'd probably take me 4 hours so fuck that.

If there's growing demand they could adapt to be more shop like again? Unlikely I guess.
I use an lbs if I can, else SJS first stop, used to always check PX judt incase but less so now.

I'll be honest the only time I go to an LBS is when I want a wheel to be built. everything else I can, to a degree do myself.
I'll miss wiggle and Chain reaction I must have been shopping with them for over 20 years and I'd normally order something from them at least once a month.

Optima and Harbourgate.
Fun places those, used to work at wiggle in those halcyon days.

How long, in minutes, will it be between launching the new Wiggle site and the first ‘Everything thing must go’ sale?
-
• #1518
I bought one of the Venon Evo framsets off Wiggle's eBay account. Bit cheeky of them not to include the integrated seatpost clamp or cover and not mention it in the listing. Happily I haz spares.

I didn't know that. We live a couple of minutes away from Kassassin Street, that's a fun little fact.

That’s very odd. It’s a bike shop on a small trading estate (a few minutes walk from where I was born) not like they have the web presence of a Planet-x or similar

did anyone manage to download the return form? the website now gives you a mere redirection for evanscycles. the old url for the form doesn't work either.
-
• #1525
it does seem to keep some things filtered out though depending on the site, for instance you can't buy ralph lauren boxer shorts from the evans website, but you can from HoF

well, web footfall. can't remember the term for it. traffic?
