  • I’ve had people come through my shop with these, that have no idea you need pump them up. #roadiesgooffroad ect

  • I know that di2 ultegra can take a 40T cassette rather than just the 34T shimano say but any experience with 105 R7000 mechanical. Can that also take more or is the motor drive the key?

  • Yeah, before I converted my partner's Sequioa to Di2, we ran a shadow cage 105 derailler on it and used a 42 cassette with something like a 32/46 double up front.

  • It can, might not shift as crisp and will need the whole B screw to get there, but have done it plenty of times.

  • Hit up the Dirty Winza loop today. Can confirm that it is dirty but it doesn't go through Windsor

  • England was created for a single purpose - to destroy bike parts.

  • Just a head up, Sonder geometry is very MTB-like rather than touring, meaning it got quite a slow but steady steering unladen.

It’s great fun off road, very stable and sensible on road, enough clearance for 2.1 650b, reckon 700 x 50 is fine.

I really hate the cable routing on the headtube which make it tricky with a bar bag.

  • Saw a black/dark Crux covered in presumably Epping Forest mud today on Woodford New Road. Had a feeling the rider is one of yous, since everyone here is getting one.

  • One from forrun lands and thought of previous pages

  • I think what you are saying is that my new bike needs a top tube bag?

  • I call that a half framebag. I my world, all bikes need a framebag, top tube bag, feedbags and rack or saddlebag :)

  • Where do you put your water bottles?

  • I mean, that's not my bike but If I'm running a full framebag I don't have water bottles, I use a water bladder. Can also stick bottles in feedbags if needed.

  • I know it's quite dirt and touring orientated, but would like to use it for a lot of road miles as well, currently riding Sutra LTD with 445 mmchainstays, 80 mm stem and 71 HA and is fine generally (not the most agile of course), wondering if even shorter stem with 69 HA will not be too cumbersome on tarmac. What do you think about it?
Otherwise it will be at least 2 kg drop on frameset so would be much lighter bike, the only downside is lack of front fork drilling, so I would have to locate my dynamo light somewhere around the handlebar.

  • Is it a caad12 / caad10?

  • I know nothing of Cannondale's other than their low q-factor cranks. Grav grav with Lefties was just a hot topic on here around the time so I snapped a pic.

  • looks like a 10. Pretty sick though. I've thought quite a lot about how much fun / terrifying my caad12 would be offroad if I could fit anything over 30c in there. Did alright (just) coming back through Epping last year mind.

  • Ahhh forgot about bladders.

  • R7000 GS may work with 11-40 and 50/34 depending on hanger

  • I reckon you’ll enjoy it, it felt slower to steer but not cumbersome to ride.

E.g climbing steep road (like 20%) is quite nice with a very stable steering, especially getting out of the saddle.

I chosen 650b as the smaller wheels mean it got slightly less wheel flop.

  • ah ok, I was thinking getting a 25.4 dropper was pretty niche.

  • Is a 12 speed Shimano HG compatible cassette 11-44ish available, or do I need to go XDR driver.
Clearly Sram are all over it, but there must be Shimano fans wanting a 1x setup !?
I've Googled by brains out already, thanks for any help.

  • Shimano does a 10-45, but not in HG flavour AFAIK. SRAM does 11-44, but don't know how well that's gonna work with a non flattop chain.
