• That's usually more of a finish, I don't think I've ever seen it as something replaceable and the fit should be close enough that trying to destroy things with, say, skateboard grip tape wouldn't work as it's too thick to fit. Just whack some carbon assembly paste on whatever you need grippier.

  • Yeah, that's where I've landed in the past when doing any type of refinishing that involves losing that textured bit.

    I've worked on bikes that have come raw from the dealers and have the grippy adhesive stuff as a sticker to apply after paint, and an accompanying roll for handlebars but I just can't find it anywhere. It's quite frustrating!

    It's for a customer who is having a post-crash refin done privately but they're quite particular so I'm looking to get it "like new" if I can! Less for functionality and more for aesthetics than anything else to be honest... just looking to avoid a customer service conflict shall we say?
