They have also updated the cable routing on the headtube. This causes the cables/hoses to rub on the carbon steerer and cause it to fail. I’ve seen this first hand and it’s scary that these are in production.

Doesn't seem like a real big deal; just put some suitable tape on the steerer where the hoses rub. Aluminium tape, maybe?

My friend applied two layers of gorilla tape where the cables meet the steerer. He checked after 2 months and it had worn through the tape and a portion of the carbon steerer. Never heard of aluminium tape but that sounds like it could help.

It’s a dangerous and dumb design and they should be called out on it.
