  • Yeah he’s really upped the strength and activation sessions. 30/40 minutes every morning and now I feel things working off the bike not just with 1km left like before.

Swims still pish but we have accepted that and moved on, I’ll get more efficient I’ll just never be as quick as my bike/run.

    Training works. Who knew.

  • T100 series. Really good for pro triathlon and quite a step forward.

T100 Miami, huge step back for triathlon.

  • Agreed dreadful course, not a good spectacle

  • When you have an easy week on the bike do you also have an easy week on run, or do you use the easy bike week to up the running, do a longer run etc?
I have a fixed amount of time so one way to get more run volume is increase it on the easy bike weeks.

  • TrainerRoad easy is easy.

New coach easy bike is, well it’s easy running with a small sprinkle of fast feet.

To be clear I’ll be doing 10km on an easy with maybe 800m of race pace focusing on technique solely. Sometimes more easy distance sometimes less, depends on the block before/after

  • Yeah easy is easy otherwise it's just periodisation. Running is the hardest of the 3 disciplines on body so upping you running will ruin what's meant to be an easy week. It might help your running abit that week but it won't set you up well for next 3-4 block week block you've got planned. Taking the easy weeks easy when scheduled is much better than being forced to take an unscheduled break a week or two into a build because your still hammered from the last one

  • Do you use trainer road tri plan? I’m on bike only plan, and their easy ride weeks are v easy, though duration is still relatively high

  • Yes did it previously.

Enjoyed it just you get more from someone looking at you and how you react etc more. I needed more swim focus but cycling wise I react really well to sweet spot physically and mentally so really enjoy TrainerRoad, will say for someone not from a running background it might not be the best as I don’t think* it does that well but maybe just me.

  • Really annoying there’s no aero comparisons between a Cross bike and a Venge for Olympic triathlon.

  • Probably about 4 min if the Venge has deep wheels

  • Now I need to work out how much I value 4 minutes. And can I make up 4 minutes on a cross remount versus trying to put shoes on whilst pedalling.

  • In other news I did 4km brick run in zone 2 today and I still fucking hate zone 2.

It’s hard to find a rhythm and stick to it over a harder effort.

It works. But I dislike the feeling.

  • There's some great rim brake aero bikes going for not alot of money at the moment. Practice some transitions and see whats quickest for you. Single sided road pedals being harder to clip in until your in the saddle aswell as road cleats being harder to run in loses abit of time vs on a cx run then flying mount. Time wise for me there's not much in it for me so the transition size and surface determines what option I go with.

  • Why don't you just swap the CX pedals over to the Venge?

  • What do we reckon a used giant trinity pro tri frameset is worth?
New frameset is £2075 and new bike is £2398 so I can’t see a used frameset being over £750-800?

Does anyone know if the frame on the full bike is the same as the frame only?

  • Prices are wild just now but I’ve seen plenty full Trinity at £2000 so £1000 for a frame seems fair.

They’re a tad heavy are they not?

  • I’m a tad heavy so I’m ok with that! Thanks

  • If anyone’s coach says they’re moving to XHALE tell them you’re leaving to find a new coach.

The single most useless worthless piece of half arsed attempt at a training software ever fucking created that’s ruining my happiness and fucking life it’s so shitty and wank.

  • A ringing endorsement! They should put that on their website
Oceanside 70.3 today starting the Ironman pro series. Should be available to watch on outside tv website or app

  • Ironmans attempt at the T100 except they left entries open so not everyone got in. Good start.

Not sure what the Oceanside course is like tbh might tune, most likely forget and catch highlights.

And as for endorsements, fix the product you won’t get shitty reviews.

  • Personally I massively prefer the Ironman pro series to t100. More open entry, more events through the year and more interesting courses. Some of the t100 courses can do one.
Coverage of Ironman is average but so was t100.
It’s almost like they should pool resources and do one series properly!
    Also.. spoiler. Lionel smashing it

  • I signed up for my first tri beginning of may, Dorny lake. Anybody else doing that?

I'm trying to keep things low key to start with. Was thinking speedo under wetsuit and then speedo under shorts... is this a terrible idea? Any advice welcome!

  • Grab a cheap tri suit, you will be glad of it, simplifies transition infinitely
