...I think this must be Netherlands judging from pavement/road, bakfietsen, Heineken sign and Hertog Jan beer can? (And a hint of yellow plates)

Ja jongen, precies! Met een biertje na het werk ;)

Lived in Amsterdam for a year, my Dutch is somewhere above “dank je wel tourist” and depressingly below “I’ve lived here for a year”.
Although in my defence it was still a lot better than many of my companions who were there much longer!
Desperate to go back and visit. -

...I am still impressed if you did that without interwebz help.
I think the Netherlands is up there with the US, Canada and Sweden/Norway/Denmark if you don't want to have to learn the local language for a Brit. Behind those, Australia. -

Has anyone had a wax jacket altered in London?
Recently picked up a vintage Filson jacket from Vinted and want to get the sleeves made a bit shorter and narrower. Not sure if it’ll need a specialist to do so or whether any clothes alteration place could do the job….

Thin merino crew neck jumpers with nice collar detail for layering under stuff? Like this but without the £200 price tag…

Always layering?
If so, some brands make base layers with mock necks. -

Also, Paul James, Google likes him.

Yeah you're probably right but I've bought three of their bits lately and need to diversify!
Thanks everyone, I'm off to google the suggestions.

Thoughts on this jacket?

Fits well enough and looks soft if it's waxed? Does it have the big back flap like the manakin in the window? If so that makes it a bit Sloane ranger.

Like it. Anglo Italian?

One can not disassociate the waxed jacket from the braying toffs for whom it is a wardrobe staple.
So it's a no from me.

Love a waxed jacket. Wardrobe staple

• #5271
Are you a braying toff?
-
• #5272
Ah ha, it is. Quite punchy on the price compared to picking up an only slightly lesser wax jacket. You bought it, didn't you @Tenderloin ? :)
My wife came home from a recent Paris business trip with an OG Burberry trench and I damn near choked when I googled the price. Got some ammunition in the chamber now.

I partly agree with @andyp but also for cycling in March rain there's not much more waterproof, they're easy to reproof and they're a little smarter than a goretex. But then I am a braying toff so...
@Tenderloin not sure it's significantly better than a Barbour Nara to warrant the additional price.

The detailing and cut separate it for me.
