  • Two fords and some exceptionally greasy descents on today’s ill-thought-out fixie route. I’m definitely coming round to the idea that 2-brake road fixed is the way to go!

  • That lovely bike has made me realise I need to sort out a winter fixed, with mudguards and sealed bearings. Here's my green Geoffrey Butler in sunnier times. I bought this off Jack Thurston in the summer.

  • That flint stinks of South Coast...UK?

  • what frame is that?

  • Yep, St Leonards-on-sea

  • Traitor Luggernaut. Apparently Traitors were prone to cracking but I've been riding this a fair bit and have no big complaints. I'd like to get it powdercoated and find a nicer fork with more clearance but overall it's the best I've come up with so far for a pratical road fixed.

  • Bombtrack Arise entering road fixed mode thanks to a 12 quid 6 bolt cog and a spare chain I had around. Cables have since been tidied up, and will properly rewrap the bars to take off the shifter etc. Stem and spacers aren’t quite right either but was a proper parts bin build in the first place.

Considering it an experiment for now - if it works will get a new back wheel sorted so I can stick the rear brake back on - Surly makes a 135mm disc fixed hub

  • Welcome to Wales - coming back from any ride here is one big game of guess the turd. I will wash it, eventually.

  • Lovely frame and some nice parts

  • Thanks. Will probably get a record 2 bolt seatpost at some point as well, when funds allow

  • Lovely. Top marks also for going with full coverage 'guards. Should keep you nice and dry. All you need now is a classic Carradice zipped roll for all your kit.

  • That Holdsworth would look even more beautiful with some original Bluemels mudguards.

  • I've got some black ones but they've got a crack so rattle like a nightmare. These'll do for now. Better coverage too, although I do wonder if it's possible to rivet some modern long mudflaps to some original bluemels guards

  • Have posted this a few times but it’s always changing.

Did Rapha’s a day in hell route yesterday, it can do anything. Road fixed is the most evolved form of bike.

  • Superb. This is my level of bike maintenance.

Such a bullet proof propulsion method.

  • This is great, what size is it?
I've always been half on the lookout for a Nervex path racer and they're weirdly rare in smaller sizes.

  • Thanks-It's 21 inch c-t-c seat tube and 22 c-t-c top tube

  • Fun! What's the saddle??

  • Possible repost
