SLAYR1 and SLAYR2 have been making a nuisance of themselves around me recently.

I saw them doing loops, being awfully noisy just as I was leaving to Badminton.
Wondered what they were, thanks for clarifying with that screenie.

• #3205
That was actually from last week but they were out last night as well. Both really clear nights, assume some kind of night flying training.

2 Apaches went over me in High Wycombe the other day also, not a usual sight

• #3207
‘Carnage’ is my guess.

I got there in the end. Preferred cringe

I’ve come across a small amateur photo album labeled 1973, that contains photos taken of Concorde. Guessing it was a passenger on the flight. A dozen photos I think, maybe more. Plane, cabin, etc.
Will take some shots later but looking to sell it on to a collector if anyone on here is interested or knows anyone interested.
First dibs here before I mention it on other forums.

Anyone else see the Merlin with its Crowsnet radome deployed doing laps above the city earlier?
-
• #3211
No. Any further intel? *Over

• #3212
flew off and landed at duxford

Orly. Merlins are chungus.
I wonder what it was up to? 🤔
-
• #3214
It looks to me like it was maybe being held in an orbit by ATC, waiting for a gap in London City Airport traffic before continuing on its planned route.

Orly
No, Duxford. QFO, not ORY🙂

Apache rumbled past my window this morning

What is going on with Boeing these days? First the door plug incident, now a 787 dropping in the air unexpectedly and hard enough to smash unsecured passengers into the ceiling (not roof).
-
• #3218
Don't forget the terminal stalling 737Max and the spontaneous combustion of 787 batteries. John Oliver covered this on Last Week Tonight a few days ago, set your VPN location to USA to watch it on YouTube
-
• #3219
A wheel also fell off a 777 immediately after takeoff a few days ago...
-
• #3220
737 Max wing spoiler wiring issue to throw into the mix too.
-
• #3221
Yeah Boeing appear to have some quality control issues. *Sells shares
EasyJet r purely airbus no? 🤔

This probably isn’t a ‘Boeing’ thing, it sounds like clear air turbulence. Could happen to any aircraft.
-
• #3223
Could be.
It’s hearsay, but one passenger interviewed by a few newspapers claims the pilot told them the gauges went blank and they suddenly lost control of the plane.
-
• #3224
Apparently there are conditions under which the displays turn off to prevent the pilots acting on incorrect indications - which is what did for Air France 447.
-
• #3225
Why would the pilot be telling passengers the gauges had gone blank?
"CRRSH This is your Captain speaking. Urrr, mid-fellatio here and it looks like I've bumped the autopilot off urrr and we've be flying in circles for 12hrs and are now urrr out of fuel and about to crash into the sea. CRRSSH. Don't panic. CRRRSH Will have an update for you on the ground. CRSSSH Psyche! It's the ocean! CRSH
Saw this and thought “why have they opted for the call sign ‘cringe’?”
