  • Anyone know anything about perspex or similar hard clear, non shattery materials? Director wants to film something being painted onto some kind of clear sheet looking through from the other side.

    The sheet will need to be about 50cmx75cm - potentially a bit smaller. How thick does it need to be for stiffness? 5mm ok?

    Don't want to spend a fortune for one shot ideally - was looking at 20mm and was quoted 300 quid.

    We'd planned to mount from one side in a clamp but could always build a simple frame around it to support the edges I guess - minimal faff better though. A little flex is fine but flapping around like a flapper, less so.

    imo 20mm is far thicker than you need. Depending on how it's mounted I'd expect 6mm+ to be fine. But ask the supplier, they usually know what they're talking about
