  • I think by now I have learned more in this thread than in school.

    So do I get this right - dogs are able to see / detect the degradation of chlorophyll with their UV vision capabilities because they're too dumb to see proper yellow to know the banana is ripe?

  • I'm not sure that a dog does have UV capabilities in their vision. The colours in your diagram suggest that that a dog's UV capabilities are not significantly different to those of a human.

  • I was joking!
    Dog's don't have the UV vision - but like a lot of other animals they see most colours less saturated - and I've found that image above fitting / funny, as it suggests they are just not able to see a nice, saturated yellow, as a ripe banana would have 🙂
