  • Anyone else wondering why firms benefitting from winning any Government contract, central or local, is allowed to make any political donations to political parties or individual politicians, or 'think' tanks?

Next you'll be suggesting that government ministers shouldn't be handing lucrative contracts to their chums and old school friends through a procurement "VIP lane" which is designed to allow them to do exactly that. Madness! Of course good old Biffer from the Bullingdon Club should be given a few million from the proceeds of shaking the money tree. Good old Biffer can then give half of it to the party in return for a peerage, and spend the rest on a nice yacht.

  • This is a massive miscalculation on Hesters part too. If he kept his head down and 9 of the 10mil in the bank, then I think it's likely that his contracts would have continued into the Lab gov. Data collection systems on that scale are risky to change and the outcome of issues in a clinical setting can be severe.

He's made himself a target by being a cunt and makeing huge donations to a political party. This risks his cash cow.
