How long a ride roughly? I can plan a route unless anyone who knows the area better has one in mind.
-
• #53
Couple of hours? would we be meeting in Bath - say Holbourne Museum?
Time wise around 11am? (I’m still trying to arrange somewhere my daughter can go so I can get a cycle in!😬🫰) -
• #54
That all sounds great to me - 11am ride out of Bath, 40km max?
-

I can’t make Castle Combe work in any less than 60km, which is too far for me on Sunday. Any other ideas? I don’t know gravel routes super well and I don’t know them starting from Bath at all!

Hm, I will do some looking at a map and get back. All of the rides I’ve come across mapped are 60 and over as well.

Very very rad!

A couple of points:
It’s the Bath Half on Sunday, so there’s gonna be a lot of road closures and difficulty getting across the city until the afternoon
I know a fair few gravel routes
:update…count me in

Both good points!
Still trying to sort “childcare”… -

If we meet at somewhere like the White Hart in Widcombe it’s has access to the towpath or other options without being on the Race Route.

• #62
Could always do two tunnels towards midford but just seen one tunnel is closed due to flooding
-
• #63
Yeah but there’s a way round..not too much of a detour
-
• #64
How about this? On/off road with a bail point
Not too swampy37km 570m climbing (it is Bath after all)
-
• #65
Ah good point. Yeah im happy to meet away from the race and that looks like a good route, thanks! Especially looking forward to the hill of pain.
-
• #66
Hill of pain is downhill luckily !

This looks great. Unfortunately I am now 50:50 - my builder has unexpectedly said they’re starting on Monday, so it depends how much sorting/moving things to the loft I can get done on Saturday.

I’m still struggling with childcare so looking like a “no from me” 🥺
-
• #69
Hopefully you can join! Let me know if you need an extra pair of hands, I like moving things.
-
• #70
Bummer. I have a bike trailer you are willing to borrow…
-
• #71
Thanks - she's 14 so might be a bit of a squeeze!
Edit, might be able to make it after all TBC -
• #72
Is this a loft conversion? If so, there’s gonna be a big load of waste timber
@zewski_netI’ll rock up to the white hart @ 11am and set off around 10 past anyway
-
• #73
I’m still hopeful! It’s not a loft conversion, new windows, which means new window sills and lintels unfortunately.
-
• #74
Nice! I hope you can make it so I can bend your ear about replacement windows
-
• #75
Unfortunately can’t make it as arrangements didn’t work out 🥹
Hopefully I’ll make #2
Sunday the 17th sounds good. I’d be up for some gravelly stuff
