We fucking love Dunelm. It's very hit and miss, but if you keep you're eyes pealed there are such good deals. Curtains especially which generally cost a fucking fortune from most places.
Eg. We found a raw steel coloured curtain pole with these hideously naff glass ball ends. But one had smashed so we got the whole thing inc rings for something like a fiver. I then heated some large bolts to match the pole and put them in the screw holes.
Recently we got this light reduced from >£100 to £25. Proper glass, nice cables, etc. It had a chrome ceiling rose, which I sprayed black. Obviously in an ideal world I'd be dropping £500 on a dining room light, but for now this is plenty good enough.
(hmm... That's reminded me it still needs some adjustment)

What's the most straightforward Windows screen recording software? I haven't needed to use one for decades.
How would I go about obscuring personal data in regions of the recording?

- 'Snipping Tool', which comes with Windows does video too
- Not used it, but 'ClipChamp' which also comes with Windows looks like it does that

OBS Studio is pretty good. You can set it to record specific windows and it won't be affected if you move them around the screen/between monitors etc.

Gamebar or something like that. Windows+G might bring it up. Don't think it can edit/obscure though.

What’s the best paint stripper since nitromors became safe? Also, best spray paint for a frame? Doesn’t need to be an amazing result, but not totally primary school ideally

Does anyone know where I might get some transistor insulating pads for old obsolete size TO-66 transistors? They’re like a TO-3 but smaller. Usually find stuff like this on eBay but no joy.
RS, Mouser and Farnell probably have them but I CBA with the whole setting up account / ridiculous postage costs.

I messaged Gilboys about this last week as I am planning to renovate from an antique coffee table.

Best paint stripper is Starchem Synstryp. Properly nasty stuff. Be careful with it, but it really works.

Does anyone have experience / recommendations with secondary data-only eSims for travelling? Off to Argentina in a few days and looking at Holafly, Airalo and Maya but struggling to differentiate if one is preferable over the other. Any help much appreciated.

Holafly has been great for the 20 times I’ve used it.

Why don't bananas go brown on the inside when they split?
-
• #120996
More importantly, did you know that bananas go brown for two reasons. One is when they are ripe, the other is that they go brown when they are bruised. If you shine a UV light at a ripe banana, it'll show up the browness in a violet colour. If you shine it at a bruised banana, it won't look any different. The reason for this is that there are some animals that have UV on their visible spectrum, and this allows them to identify which bananas are ripe to eat.

I've used Airalo successfully once and someone on here used my referral code and I think it worked for them.
https://ref.airalo.com/nT3s should get you $3 off if you fancy it.

So I have stupidly managed to drop a I think stainless steel washer down the drawer of my washing machine where the detergent and water goes.
I am a bit worried that the above washer might not be stainless steel and not looking forward to get rust stains on my white sheets or worse.
Tried to get it out with magnets on a string which didn't work because the channel becomes ferrous quite soon after the plastic bit and the magnets stuck very early.
Tried working down some hose to suck it out with help of my trusty vacuum but that also didn't work because the channel bends in mysterious ways.
I have a sneaking suspicion that just doing a wash and then fishing it out of the accessible filter won't work because that's not a place where stuff that doesn't belong there is supposed to end up. Although I have found socks in there which I still not really can technically comprehend.
What to do hive mind?!
A) just do a wash, it'll end up in the filter
B) flip over washing machine and shake, it'll drop out
C) open up washing machine and get down in its guts to retrieve the ring as you would with a human devouring anaconda
D) OTHER: ....Many thanks in advance, I'm running low on fresh panties!
