  • Thats nice, turtleneck under workshirt is more practical comfy than preppy imo.
But can't see if you're wearing jeggins!

And silver hair changes how stuff looks a lot, silk scarves tucked into shirt, tweed and monkstraps are what I'll do if I get to that point!
But looking at my dad I wont have silver hair ever, and will be wearing expensive silly drop crotch trousers, white hitops and batik t-shirts when I am 70.

  • I'm just envious of the hairline tbqh

  • Speaking of #3, I was after some wider longer trousers, more on the casual side, that are not too expensive. I ordered some from Uniqlo but the fabric was too formal. Any ideas for alternative sources and should it really be chinos I'm looking for?

  • I really rate these, have them in both tan and black. Great fit, lovely material, really hard-wearing: https://www.carriercompany.co.uk/collections/sale-and-sample/products/classic-trouser-bf-1

  • .

  • Loving that this thread has descended into fit pics

    Come at me bros

  • I basically rif on the same 3-4 outfits - I’ve found this makes it way less stressful to think about. And I buy way fewer clothes.

  • Fit pics fit pics!

Love the stripey jumper, and the bright orange fleece too tbh.

  • I posted one but bottled it. Fleece, joggers and crocs are fire.

  • Like that bold sweater.
Reminds me of one my mum knitted ages ago in the same style. Was the same pattern as one Joschka Fischer from the green party wore at his first parliament appearance in Germany.
Sweaters and Nike I think, quite an important moment in German society.

Both good adult outfits, but kid wins, sorry.

  • My Depop Carhartt Sids turned up. I really like them so thanks for the suggestion! I would say they're generally a snugger fit than the Dickies so glad I went for a 30" waist rather than the 28" I wear in Dickies. The fabric seems much tougher which is nice.

  • I'm not sure if you mean something else by 'darning' but i get the crotch reinforced with patches in all my trousers because cycling at the local dry cleaners for £12

    its more than a patch.

  • strong work these past few pages!
it’s inspiring me to have a good old wardrobe clear out and search depop/ebay/vinted for some updates that don’t break the bank.

@Nef as for inspo, i sometimes google [brand name] + lookbook which can bring up some good stuff e.g. https://universalworks.co.uk/pages/ss23-collection-lookbook - not that i can pull any of it off, but can give some ideas

  • Those are absolutely ideal!

  • On the off risk of being hounded out of this thread covered in tar and feathers might I suggest just dropping into you local-ish big Uniqlo that carries the collaborations?
They have a range of styles, doesn't break the bank in the slightest and you can just try stuff on.
I only go once or twice a year when the U or a nice collab (what's the NY suit company called again?) is released and always positively surprised by the outcomes and final till sum.

  • They're by no means my "signature pieces" but just good staples on which to add.

I mainly buy second hand because I like spending less money and for environmental reasons. Also male online shopping is easier because if you know the brands you like and your size in them you rarely can go wrong buying unfitted. But then of course you need to know what and which brands you like and your size in them.

    Hence my Uniqlo suggestion.

  • Nah this sounds bang on, there’s one in Manchester. Nice excuse for a day trip tbh.

  • :).
Unfortunately only the"flagship stores" carry the collaborations, and in the UK they're only in London. But you can also order them online if so inclined.

  • but kid wins

Indeed, no sorry. Does he/she already have a toddler fashion influencer insta?!

  • Service Works? Regrettably they don't have belt loops.

  • my service works trousers have belt loops (and elastic). I like them, especially for the price

  • Oh, which ones are they?
