  • Bet they are well bendy :(

At $2.6k, I'm not sure I'll ever know

  • Bet they are well bendy :(

Not as bendy as these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204668414822?

    WTAF.

  • That's mad that seven people bid on it too

  • Can anyone recommend trail pants for summer, I hate being hot and wearing trousers but I get bitten like crazy on evening rides! I want for riding round town, pump track trips after school, digging at our trails, or watching the kids do bmx.
Something like rapha lightweight trail looks good, anything similar worth a go or just buy decent once and be done?

  • Have you tried Smidge?

  • As in bug repellant? I’ve tried everything!

  • I've found it very effective in stopping insects biting, albeit it doesn't keep them away.

  • Most of the guys I ride with rave about the Nukeproof Blackline ones, which are obviously mega cheap at the moment
I've got some Endura ones and some 50to01 ones and prefer the looser cut of the 50to01s. All trousers are pretty hot though.

  • I like the Madison ones I bought off someone on here.

  • I knew (someone) would get annoyed. I'm sorry, I had a very long weekend and I did go search my messages to try and remember who it was I got them off but no luck. I still don't remember. Was it you?

Were they even Madison trousers? I bought two different pairs at the same time and now I'm even more confused.

  • You had some Madison ones off me, I'm not actually annoyed.

  • Yeah, so I must've bought Endura ones from a shop. I still can't find the messages about them, but they've been good so thanks for those :)

Don't think I've used the Endura yet so can't comment.

  • £207 for 2023 Lyriks. Enjoy.

EXTRA10 to be applied at checkout.

I would buy, because buyer. But if anything I'm going down in travel.

  • Good spot, ordered!

  • AXS test was a success. No issues other than a battery swap needed mid-event. The thumb shifting didn't leave me in agony. It wasn't perfect but it was definitely better. I think there's probably some residual damage in my hand which is why it's still a bit painful. I could've done with moving the shifter a little closer and I think if I get my own set, I'll probably make the big paddle just do down shifts and the smaller buttons on the front do the upshifts. Also tempted to get a second shifter for the left so that I can shift when I'm faffing one-handed, plus spread the shifting load between thumbs. I may not bother if I end up with aerobars on the bike but this likely won't happen unless I'm deffo doing TD next year so it still seems a worthwhile idea in the interim.

Thinking now of sticking shorter stem on Stanton, dropping the post a little and getting the missus to ride it so I stop being precious about the Spark and kit it up for ultras.

  • Super cheap but very functional pedals if you risk the imminent implosion:

    https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/nukeproof-neutron-evo-mtb-flat-pedals

  • very functional
    imminent implosion

    ...

  • pedals will be fine - as long as they turn up - Chain Reaction seem to have about 3 members of staff left.

  • CRC have a a carbon Giga with Eagle AXS Transmission and Fox 38s, in my size, for £2.5k. That's almost cheap enough to buy just for the groupset, forks and tyres, then just throw away the frame

  • I've been looking at that too. What height are you? The 515mm reach puts me off. I'm 1.89m tall, maybe have slightly shorter arms or torso though. My friends xxl megatower has 515mm reach and it feels too long for me.
I don't need another long travel bike though...

  • I think Scrabble was refering to the retailer, not the pedals.

For what it's worth I've had two sets of plastic Nukeproofs and they've been pretty good, especially considering they were used and the low price paid.

  • I'm 190ish. My G16 is 520 reach anyway so even an XXL Giga would techincally be sizing down. I don't need another long travel bike either, unless it's going to have a motor in it..
