Deltas worked fine if you spent a few hours adjusting them after every ride.
They must have been a nightmare for pro mechanics.
Hard anodised rims afaik arrived with the Mavic SSC rims around 75. I remember seeing Freddy Maertens on a beautiful red Flandria with 28 spoke versions. The Flandria was a Colnago with Colnago panto brake levers, not very discreet.
