Unless you want to stop and film them then the video you get while passing is often rubbish for reporting, doesn't really capture it. IME anyway.

If I spot it, I just give a gentle tap on the window and make sure they know I've clocked them, and how easy it is to see.
Made some lady jump out of her skin the other day. We were stopped at some lights, cyclists all around her, she was just gazing down at it, held next to her thigh....lights changed, I knocked, she jumped and the colour drained from her face. Lovely stuff.
I reckon its almost as useful as recording it in terms of deterrent- and lots less admin.
