  • It's more popular than the replacementbusservicemaster

  • I know this will be popular but damn, might have to start saving (or get a job first...)

  • I quite like the new white speedy

  • Nothing that drastic, just ultrasonic the bracelet and clean up between lugs/under bezel.

  • Interesting the way they've done the markers, that they bridge over the step.

I think the applied markers make it look a lot more lux than a regular moonwatch. Not sure I entirely like that. But at the money I guess that's the sort of thing people are looking for.

  • I think the markers should be lume filled with a black border. Unless the whole dial is lumed, which would be wild.

  • It does feel a bit sterile imho, bet it pops in the flesh though.

  • I really like that.

Edit, wait: Are the markers on the subdial also floating/only attached towards the middle?

  • It's mainly so the designers could sneak in a cock'n balls Easter Egg

Casio outlet has the red Frogman for £363, which is £150+ off RRP, mad bargain.

  • This really got me.

  • Probably, at the same time, this doesn’t sound « out of space » compared to direct competitor like Explorer or Milgauss..

@ejay2.0 the old one looks good, the anniversary one too, but the current line up offer something different. I like the fact that Omega « try » from a generation to another..

About that white speedy, do you expect limited availability for the first month..? Six month ? First year ?

Would be curious to try it on, but currently more attracted by a vintage one..

  • I didn’t realise the casiotron had already been released. A lot of grumbling about the price but it’s inline with the gshock metal squares. Tough solar multiband 6 is good, less impressed with 5 bar WR and a black glass case back??

  • Yeah, I agree. Stepping away from the "tool" origins. Although, it hasn't been a tool watch for a long time now.

Overall it works, I guess those little touches make it more lux as you say.

  • LOLs. They probably started there and designed around that

  • I like the watch, I agree that I'd probably like it more if it didn't have the artificial ageing of the lumé, but it is what it is - the watch meant a lot to me at the point in my life that I bought it as the history had a parallel.

Do I wish I'd bought it at the common sale price? Yes, but - no point crying over spilt milk.

  • Re: the Railmaster, it’s the watch that the VPC Type 37HW (shameless plug alert - launching today!) reminds me the most of. Though it doesn’t specifically have anti-magnetic features. It’s got some of the vibe of the modern Railmaster but hand wound and in a more vintage size.

  • I liked the anniversary one, especially as it's a touch smaller than the current Railmasters and I've got skinny wrists

  • Yeah, I'm a fan of that one and the 1957 Speedmaster that was part of the same "trilogy" collection. Except for the brown lume.

  • I quite like the lume - definitely don't think it detracts from the watch

  • Fair enough! I've softened on fauxtina over the years but the "old radium" coloured super luminova is still a bit too much for me on those watches. It's a very close recreation of a vintage watch and the watch as originally designed wasn't intended to look like that. It's a personal taste thing though.

  • I expect that the white Speedy to be scarce for the first few months .

  • Aye, I'm less bothered that it doesn't necessarily look as the '57 watch would look if it popped out of a timewarp, just that I like how it looks in itself.

I'm less of a fan of how the current iteration looks (not that I object to it, just that I don't like it as much), but again that's about the overall look not particularly about the lume

  • Just answering a question.
There a some out in the real world on wrists already mind you.......
