I want a black (because, aesthetics, for as long it'll last), 11-36 (because max of derailleur) 11speed cassette.
No Shimano options. It's the presented binary choice!

All cassettes look black if you don't clean them. And equally, all black cassettes just look dirty.

Substance > Form.
Which reminds me of someone at the shop at the height of COVID where parts were unavailable and we could only source a Sunrace cassette instead of Shimano and he flipped!

Don't buy a used cassette.

• #6306
Also, buy a Shimano cassette.

Sunrace, they’re fine, ran 11-40, 11-36 etc. with Shimano drivetrain and can’t really feel any performance.
If you can run 11-36, you might be able to run 11-40

can’t really feel any performance.
You should upgrade to a Shimano.

I am ignoring to my peril all the other advice...;)
Also turned out I was looking at a 10sp cassette instead of a 11sp and the previous math doesn't add up anymore.
The 36t is really the max, I got it just about working with a SRAM Rival medium cage rd by getting rid of the little spacer under the b screw. Also plenty enough for me with a 46/30 crank.
Thanks errybody for the comments though, food for thought.

I’d ride the shit out of that cleat.

Anyone know how universal these shifter boss covers are ?
Those ones don’t have a very long list of compatible shifters but the “light alloy frames” ones (https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/gear-spares/shimano-sl6028-lever-boss-cover-for-alloy-frames/) which look very similar, have a much longer list of compatible shifters.
I’ve bought some 105 SL-1050 levers on eBay and they’ve come without the equivalent piece. I only need a left hand shifter so hoping these from SJS will sort it.

Haha thanks for the encouragement.
I’ll hopefully soon have acquired some covers on here, maybe I can get closer to @gbj_tester cleat longevity levels!

Greetings all
I have foolishly purchased a Hunt hub with an XD driver but the NX uses a Shimano HG freehub.
Coops has a freehub for sale but neither of us are sure it will fit- anyone have a clue on here? Pics for info

I think the freehub is one of these: https://www.newleccycles.com/components/gears-drivetrain/replacement-freehub-for-hunt-4-season-v1-hubs__4354?currency=GBP&chosenAttribute=HUNT%20S-FH-4SD-SM&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5oLah6HdhAMV0ZeDBx0I1ANhEAQYByABEgIlqPD_BwE
But I don't recognise the Hunt hub type from the pic - can anyone else ID the hub type?

I might just buy a new Novatec hub, the spacing seem very similar to this Hunt hub so I can re-use the spokes
-
• #6316
Replacing a hub where you can maybe re-use the spokes sounds like a lot more effort than just buying the correct freehub or a new cassette.

More pics of the hub

You should upgrade to a Shimano.
Thank you, you’re a real gem.

Honestly, fire an email off to Hunt and they’ll probably show you the right one, probably...
-
• #6321
They are the lightest pedals about and lowest stack height. Wide float etc. No arguments.
I'll be the judge of that

I actually did this after posting on here and had a very quick reply stating my hub was the current version of the Enduro Wide with a link to the correct freehub!
Very impressed with the customer service from Hunt.

So I attempted to remove the bearings from this 11 spd Chorus crank - got the Park bearing puller tool out, which I seem to often destroy something with - tonight didn’t disappoint. Under great pressure I managed to remove at fair velocity 90% of the bearing, flinging it all over my flat in pieces (just glad I wasn’t in the way) - so it left one little ring remaining on the base of the axle. The pen points to it. It does have a little lip so I tried to prize out with a) the park tool -but the teeth things don’t quite reach that flat. b) a couple of screwdrivers from either side over some plastic tyre levers. c) hole punch/hammer - can’t get the angle flat enough.
Does anybody have any more ideas?
Maybe another branded bearing puller has flatter teeth - the park ones seem to turn up a bit (pictured).
Shenanigans here tonight anyway 🤦♂️
Thanks in advance and sorry for the essay

Hmmm 🧐 writing that out helped - and got me wondering if a crown race tool would work??

That's what I was going to suggest before I scrolled down further
Knipex and the handle of a Park cone spanner.
Helps the brake track keep in line when being levered back.
