Spent an hour or two on Alan Wake 2 tonight, and loving it. Enjoying the slow pace of the game, storyline and I was so happy to visit Bright Falls again. Also enjoying the nods towards Control, and the Federal Bureau of Control which I believe is part of trying to link the Alan Wake game with the Control game.

Bought Helldivers 2 last night, it's very amusing and very difficult. Feels like a game that has a meaningful grind for player power.

If it's anything like the first one a lot of that power will actually come from encounter knowledge and weapon/stratagem choices, which was refreshing compared to most modern games

I bought it last week but only in the last couple of days have I been able to join parties. Much better than playing solo

With all the Todo about Tomb Raider, realised I'd never played the more modern trilogy.
The first one, tomb raider, was quite enjoyable. Nice tight story, not to long, bit 'disaster injury overkill', but liked it.
Started second one, Rise of Tomb Raider, and despite fun opening, it's gone a bit survivally, side missions, come back with XYZ later etc, not really enjoying it much....

Just started Firewatch on Gamepass.
only on day 3, but it's a really engrossing little game that pulls you in to a good story line and interesting dialogue. It's engrossing already, like being in a tv show.

Firewatch is a great little game.

It's taken two years and giving up twice.. finally beaten Elden Ring final boss.
Surprisingly anticlimactic ended. Sea of Stars ending or something it was called.
I'm guessing 'Journey 2' that's it's asking me to be start is like a new game plus?

I just finished Firewatch recently (on Switch), first game I’ve played for years and really enjoyed it. Any recommendations for similar-ish games?
-

I've not played many tbh.
What became of Edith Finch was very enjoyable, similar vein.
I also have a fondness of the Life is Strange games, which are also slower paced.

unreal game, been searching for a similar game since...dredge is decent but not quite the same feeling of pure escapism you get from firewatch

Just in time for the DLC!

There's like 6 endings, probably more that haven't been discovered. Time to play through it again

this genre is sometimes called a walking simulator if you want a way to search for similar stuff, but I don't have specific reccs.

I love the LiS games. Slow paced but IMMENSELY fucking stressful.

Had no idea they were re-releasing the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R trilogy. Looks like there was talks about it and then they’ve just suddenly released it on Xbox following their showcase thing. Got a few games on the go at the moment but will look forward to playing this in future. https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/store/p/9N4GFFDG41JR

Oh no.
Addicted to Apex Legends again.
After almost half a year break, really thought I’m done with it for once and all, but with most recent update, thought I’ll give it a try.
Mistake…Really enjoying all the big changes to abilities and armours.
As a Season 0 player (5 years!), the slight change to the gameplay got me hooked. -

Finished it today. I was really saddened by the reveal. It was expected, but it definitely triggered emotions!

Oh nice, that's one of those games I always wanted to play but took ages getting round to. Finally had a go and I just couldn't stand k&m and the controller mods weren't very refined so I just gave up on it.

"Everybody's Gone to the Rapture" is definitely one for the feels . I found it genuinely moving. Amazing score as well, if you like that kind of thing.

What Remains of Emily Finch?
It's short, first person explorer, some fun mechanics.
I have it on Playstation, likely from PS+ at some point. -

Maybe The Invincible?
This review mentions it has a similar feel to Firewatch
^ I've decided to hang up my PUBG boots once I hit 8760 hours. I'm currently around 5000 so a little way off but that seems like a good number.
