Thanks for comment. I never actually tried. Of course they state 32 is max I think. I have 38 currently but thought this might be the widest possible size.

actually, there is another issue. I am looking forward to build touring bike like surly bridge club or Brother Big Bro. I think the spacing at rear is around 135 or 141 and Mavic axium is way shorter.

Why won’t these work with a 44mm tyre? Google says these are a 17mm internal rim which will be fine.
I run 42mm tyres on H Plus SON rims which are also 17mm with no problem at all.
