  • I'm less concerned with roll resistance and more interested in the casing thickness and puncture tests. Anyway, I now have a 2.35 Mezcal TNT in my hot little hands.

  • I've crashed twice in the same spot on Lesperit - I reckon I was just going too slow through rocky descent and hit too big of a rock to roll over and went A over T. I don't think any of my crashes can be blamed on tyres, basically, I just suck offroad.

I don't think I'd go down to 2.1 unless I was lining up for TD maybe, then I'd think about it. But if I'm running hardtail on that I'd probably want the extra volume of 2.4ish anyway.

I first built the Stanton with a 2.6" Barzo/Mezcal F/R combo but 2.6 was probably a bit big and I got rid when I added Cushcore XC inserts into the mix (on skinny's advice).

  • I think the new Michelins look interesting- be a while before they are available locally (to me) I imagine however.

  • Although one of the locals has that new inverted Push forks already, so who knows.

  • The £2600 ones? Blimey

  • Yep

  • They’re nice looking things.

  • Is it ok to cross post this? Trying to move my Hardtail on. It doesn't have inverted Push forks.

I'm totally open to offers on the whole bike or splitting if there's a buyer for the frame.

  • Everything looks nice until it's scraped down a mountain a few times.

  • That should sort the wheels out then

  • Colourful spokes is something I really don't get.

  • The wheel is fugly, but the fork is fuglier

  • Yeah, I'm not a fan of the rainbow look. Some of the 2-tone sets aren't bad though if they suit the bike.

I've toyed with the idea of all black except the valve spokes just to make whizzing the wheel around to find the valve a split second quicker but I've not done it yet.

  • A mate has those i9 wheels, I quite like the oil slick spokes thing

  • Mine never gets cleaned anyway so it's not like they'd maintain their colour for more than 5mins.

  • I think I have that with different colour nipples on one wheel, but not sure.
    It's clever.

  • Suits the candy apple frame way more than that black carbon weave thing.
Looks cheerful, whereas on the carbon thing it just looks showy.

  • It's clever.

    I know. I'm clever. :)

I already use colourful tubeless valves when I can for the same reason. I've just not had a wheelset built for grav grav or mtb so I've not got fussy with spokes yet.

  • Nah I love USD forks / struts.

  • Snap. And I shall have a Lefty again soon

  • Oh, same here. Manitou Dorado, Marzocchi Shiver, Intend Edge etc...

These are just a bit hideous though

  • They’re nice in person, I think.

  • I've heard that about people on here too...

  • Not that bad I thought.

If they are plush, not noodley and don't implode after 50hrs riding I wouldn't really care what they look like!

Bet they are well bendy :(
