Have you had an accurate diagnosis of the root cause? (If you've not had an MRI, I'm guessing maybe not?) I ask because I had acute groin pain which wasn't properly diagnosed all the way through physio investigation, then X-ray and MRI (both of which were through GP referral) until a referral to an orthopedist, who immediately diagnosed femeroacetabular impingement (FAI). I was then referred for keyhole surgery (or give up running for good... er, no!), all through the NHS. 3 month wait for a consultation, another 3 month wait for surgery, then 2/3 months rehab and back to running. Not saying your condition is the same or even related, but could you go back to the GP and get a specialist referral to an orthopedist?
Pubalgia/athletic hernia
Anyone got this fixed? My GP (bless him) tried to get me an MRI but was told to fuck off. I went to an osteopath to get something else fixed but discussed this with him.
He said, you won’t get surgery on the NHS and it probably won’t need it, so stop running for at least 3 weeks and find some rehab advice on the internet. The NHS won’t be interested as I am not in jeopardy.
So I’m asking the internet.
I tried a gentle 5km last week after a couple of weeks off and it still feels like I’d been kicked in the balls
