  • I like it too.

  • Why is the boot aperture so small and the lip so high? Why is it not just a box? When is somebody gonna make an electric Honda Jazz that’s just practical and not expensive and doesn’t look like some boomer’s idea of “trendy”.

Guessing crash regs. Probably got a slab of battery under the boot too.

Never, because not enough people would buy it.

  • Electric Honda N-Van is carrying my hopes and dreams…

  • I'd love to see what a design department focused on user needs, rather than wants would actually come up with.

I was watching Harry Metcalfe on the current EV market, and there was a lot made of depreciation.

    However, these were generally incredibly expensive cars and two things struck me;

    1. is depreciation actually that high on the e.g. given - ie if you averaged out the depreciation on a 5 Series and an S Class over the past 50yrs what is it compared to that number?
    2. How ridiculous most of these things are (gigantic 2-3 tonne performance monsters) for real world use in the UK.

  • EVs have a skateboard of batteries to fit underneath the seats etc, they're gonna be higher up than a ICE hatchback.

  • I'm full of hate for this and feel sorry for the original.

  • My Nissan eNV200 does not have this at all, is practical and low and boxy. Is it like this because the design is 7 years old? Idk. It’s so good they have discontinued it.

  • made me smile to see two Sinclair C5s being driven up Brandon High Street earlier today. Saw them parked up a little earlier about 3 miles away

  • Can only imagine we'll start to see a lot more of these stories.

Owners of Nissan Leaf electric cars have accused the firm of "dumping its pioneers" after it announced its app would stop working for older vehicles.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-68426263

  • I’ve never got the app to work on either of the Leafs I have had so I am not bothered by this. I do wish the app worked though. If I want to know if I have enough charge to get home from work I have to go to the car and switch it on.

  • If I want to know if I have enough charge to get home from work I have to go to the car and switch it on.

    Bloody hell, that's tough

  • Nothing to do with EVs though? There must be countless ICE cars that have connected features that are either on borrowed time or already switched off.

  • Bloody hell, that's tough

    Crying laughing emoji

  • I think it's much more prevalent on electric cars though (I guess a combination of features relating to charging and that they are new models).

The petrol equivalent of a leaf wasn't coming with an app.

  • And on top of that I have to remember my security fob to get back to my desk when I realise I have to let it charge for another 2 hours. It’s hard.

  • Something on our golf (ice) got switched off. It had such an impact that I can not remember what it was.

  • Had a 2020 Nissan Leaf, found the App really helpful for checking charging status, preheating/cooling the car amongst other things, would have been gutted if that got taken away, also had a VW E-up and the app was on a subscription, free for the 2 years of our lease, would probably have paid for it but would not have appreciated having to do that!

  • Nissan app also useful if you are the idiot who forgets which parking zone you left the car in at Stansted airport.
The trend of trying to remove every switch and button from the dashboard will be a big factor when I replace mine, I saw a review of a car that had the "distance to car in front" setting for the cruise control buried about four menus deep on the touch screen. Crazy when touching your phone is illegal.

  • Wife got a new company car!
Unlikely to lose it in a car park…
